Hilltop picnic area, difficult access

Superb 360-degree view over the fields. Almond trees, vineyards... We are alone at the top of the mountain. Only a flock of sheep can be heard in the distance. Peace and tranquillity after a very hot day.✦Translating

We didn't hear the barking dog. But what a beautiful place. From the little chapel, the ruins of the old castle are illuminated in the evening. There was a caretaker at the chapel, and he was fine with us spending the night. Completely off-grid!!!!✦Translating

This is our most phenomenal place in Portugal. What a view! Wow! The road is somewhat challenging and will certainly be different when wet, but we managed it with a 6.5-metre motorhome. The wider area is also beautiful. There is one downside: a dog barking all night! We had planned to drive the N2, decided to come here instead, and certainly have no regrets!✦Translating

For your information, very clean and practical public toilets, with a sink and even a towel rack, five minutes away in the village below, next to the reception for the rock engravings departure.✦Translating

Magnificent 360-degree view and superb sunsets and sunrises. Paved uphill road, easy to access. Parking with a few level spaces. A little, but not much, shade. Several picnic tables below the chapel.✦Translating

Beautiful and apparently quiet place in winter, with great views and, due to its location, likely to be very windy. There are trees with tables and benches in the recreation area, but not in the parking area. Some rubbish around the site detracts from its appearance.✦Translating

Fantastic place. Steep cobbled road but we managed fine in our 6.3m van and we tend to be quite cautious where we take her. Stupendous views across to Spain. No shade. We were recommended this as a sleeping place by Coa museum but after a hot, sweaty afternoon visiting palaeolithic rock carvings we wanted shade & showers so opted for Torre de Moncorvo free aire instead.

a simply wonderful place to stay the night or just visit for the amazing 360 view. A 2k drive up a steep stone laid single track road that is easy for a 7m van. Then you are alone on top of the world! it maybe only 690M high but you feel like it's a mountain. Stunning! Used this as a stopover after seeing the 20,000 year old Coa valley rock engravings at night..an absolute must and well worth it!

One of the most rewarding places we’ve stayed in!!! We’ve arrived in the evening, to this hilltop. There’s a fairly leveled and large space to park by the church. We were on our own and woke up to the most stunning view 360 degrees of pure gold to the eyes and the soul!!!
