Peaceful museum site, water unavailable

Peaceful location next to an impressive, beautiful museum. Staying overnight gave you a 10% discount on the museum. Electricity is available for a fee. Overnight stay €10; toilet in the museum during opening hours. The town is a 45-minute walk away.

We are currently staying at this site. It is actually quite good. There is currently no water, only electricity. Absolutely fine for €10. The museum is interesting and hiking trails start directly at the site. Access is no problem.

Attention! The best way to get there is via Sickersdorf, as all motorhomes can pass that way. The route directly from Bad Sooden is really narrow, making it very difficult to pass another vehicle. We parked in the car park for free. We did not use any services.

Basic place, but absolutely fine for one night. We were alone up there and had a quiet night.

Beautiful, peaceful place with a lovely historical 10 km walk along the old Iron Curtain. Note: if you want electricity or water, make sure you have loose €1 coins. Nine hours of electricity costs one euro. Recommended!

Very nice place. It is a shame we did not have more time. We would have liked to stay longer. Unfortunately, there is still no toilet emptying facility. We will return.

The previous review is completely wrong! The museum definitely does exist, and it is very beautiful too! Friendly people, very clean and well-maintained toilet, new buildings. Quiet and level terrain. Recommended!

We wanted to stop for the night. Upon arrival, the museum was nonexistent, just a closed prefab building. Two people asked for €10 cash for the night. We paid, but then had a bad feeling. We left for the nearby campsite. Perhaps it is suitable if you are a group of three or four campers.

Excellent place in nature beside a historic museum, which you can visit for €5 per person. The site costs €10, and you get a 50-cent discount per person on admission. During opening hours, you can empty a chemical toilet. Water and electricity are available. Peace and quiet included. Everything you need is there. Very beautiful circular walks along the former inner German border.

Super-quiet place. Some reviewers should really go on a club holiday instead. You are staying in nature at a great price, with electricity, water, and disposal facilities available. What more could an ordinary camper want? Idyllic, with a historic past. Complainers should read carefully beforehand and choose the overcrowded concrete sites instead. We say thank you for this offering.

Site directly at the museum. The museum is very interesting, but €10 for the site is simply excessive. It is very exposed and always windy.

We also had a quiet night. The site now consists only of gravel. No trees or hedge remain. If the gravel area is not sufficient, you can also stay on the meadow, but without electricity, and it is not suitable in rain. The museum is very interesting and worthwhile.

We cannot understand why the access is criticized. It is paved and has several passing bays. We are staying here with a 7.5 m motorhome in nature beside a great museum. Under the 2.8-ton sign it says 'except motorhomes', so continue driving and enjoy nature.

The road here is very narrow and twisting. There is no where to officially empty your toilet. You have to ask in the office during open hours. The office staff I asked had no idea what I was talking about. I would have liked to stay and tour the museum, but this was not possible as I had a full toilet.
