Supermarket parking, calm overnight

The large parking lot at Makro Market in central Braga is excellent for motorhomes — many campers park here safely. 24h security cameras provide peace of mind. Tourigalo restaurant is on-site for meals, and Makro's entrance has clean, well-maintained restrooms. Highly recommended stop for travelers!

If it’s Makro we have thank for this parking then a big thank you. Plenty of Moho’s here. Cycled into old town and up to the wonderful stairs at Bom Jesus do Monte. Good nights sleep.

We slept without any problems; it was very quiet. There are toilets at the Makro entrance. I recommend visiting Bom Jesus do Monte. From the parking area, it is a 20-minute ride by bicycle on a gentle slope, or you can take the funicular. It is a sanctuary with a magnificent Stations of the Cross, a large park with a lake, a basilica, and a children's playground.✦Translating

Makro parking area, open. A good place to spend the night and visit the city. Bus 96 is 100 meters away and goes to the historic center for €1.55. Quiet and safe location. The account read here beforehand has no basis. There is a psychiatric hospital nearby; perhaps the abnormal behavior of a patient caused some alarm. THE LOCATION IS SAFE.✦Translating

On March 5, 2025, we suffered an attempted robbery in this parking area. At 10 p.m., a vehicle parked near four motorhomes and someone began listening inside them, including mine. We ran away. Do not go to this parking area.✦Translating

Makro supermarket parking area. It is a large open lot with some motorhomes parked at the back. I parked right at the far end, away from the activity, and had a very peaceful night. There are no services, but all the major supermarket chains, a shopping center, and more are nearby. It is 3.5 km from the historic center. I went by scooter, but you can walk there too—it's a good hike with lots of uphill sections. I found the place safe.✦Translating

Good parking close to the old town—an Uber costs about €4. Many other RVs; seems safe. We only parked during the day and then moved on.✦Translating

Spent 2 nights here. Left the van alone as well till late. no problems at all. quiet and safe spot.There were other campers as well. 40mins to the church with the stairs and 30min to.the old center by foot along the small river. Awesome.
