Free roadside parking convenient for visiting Ashbourne town. Overnight stays work, but the road is busy and passing vehicles can shake the van, especially during quieter hours. The town centre, shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and takeaways are about 5 minutes away on foot.

So it did work for a night, but it wasn't exactly relaxing. The road is quite busy. During the day, it's full of vehicles passing just inches away from our van as they're trying to pass opposing traffic. In the quieter hours, vehicles speed past so close that it shakes the whole van. At 4 am, an HGV sped by so close that the van shook me awake. So it depends on your comfort level.
Stopped a couple of times here; nice and quiet as long as you're respectful :)Translating
