Hörnumer Str. 3, 25980, Sylt
Been here?
Campingplatz Rantum is a large campsite near the beach, which is directly opposite and about 300m away; dogs are welcome and a dog beach is available. The site is clean and well maintained, with excellent sanitary facilities, although showers and WLAN must be booked separately and WLAN currently does not work. Water costs 0,05 € per liter and electricity 0,85 Euro per kWh. The road to Hörnum can be clearly heard from some pitches, while the campsite shop and gastronomy are weak.

Excellent sanitary building, spacious washroom, individual shower cubicles with a small anteroom—superb! There are also cubicles with sinks. Very friendly welcome. We had booked a day pitch and were able to upgrade to a comfort pitch directly by the Rantum Basin. Electricity currently costs €0.85 per kWh, but it is manageable.
The campsite in Rantum is clean and well maintained. The camping shop and catering are weak, as is the surrounding area, with few beach bars. On the positive side, the dog beach is directly opposite. Depending on the pitch, the road to Hörnum is clearly audible. Water costs €0.05 per litre, and electricity is also expensive at €0.85 per kWh. Overall solid, but with shortcomings. It is no longer our first choice.
The newly built pitches are completely unsuitable for a campsite; they are now only 48 m². The gravel used is far too coarse, unpleasant to walk on, and there is no way to get a tent peg or screw to hold. The entrance area is very neglected. Everything costs extra, and €38 in April is quite steep. What a shame—we certainly will not return.
Very expensive and somewhat complicatedly explained at the beginning. Wi-Fi and showers have to be booked separately, and the Wi-Fi does not work at all. It was a nice little place and a beautiful beach, though.
A really great campsite. Everything you need is available. Very clean toilets and showers. Not exactly cheap, but it is Sylt. We will definitely return.
Basically a good campsite with everything you need. A few more hedges or trees would benefit the pitches, but that is a matter of taste. Points are deducted for road noise and the current construction noise from work on the site. It is quiet at night. The sanitary facilities are partly inadequate; the urinals in small washroom No. 4 unfortunately smelled. Washroom No. 1, however, is excellent.
Very well-positioned campsite. We got a pitch near the main road, which was noisy. Surprisingly, considering what we paid, everything costs extra: shower water, Wi-Fi, electricity, and so on. We suggest increasing the daily rate by a few euros and including everything.
This is our first time here. Warm welcome and a detailed explanation of the facilities. The sanitary facilities are spotlessly clean and tidy. Booking in advance through the website is important. The pitches are level and not too close together. Everything is good, hence five stars.
Beautiful site with large, clean sanitary facilities. Electricity and water for the showers must be paid for separately. Close to the beach, with large pitches. We liked it.
Great campsite. Sufficient, clean toilet facilities and huge pitches. We would gladly stay longer.
Large campsite, mainly occupied by permanent residents. It offers practically every service, naturally for a fee. For a self-sufficient camper it is decidedly expensive, but there are no free alternatives on Sylt. Cost for one camper, two people, and a dog: €40, including a 26-litre shower. Yes, the shower is charged at €0.04 per litre, but at least it is very spacious and has a strong jet.
