Riverside off-road, uneven sandy access

Plenty of different spaces, we ended up down the end right next to the river - other comments about rubbish were fairly true, main problem being little shards of glass

The completely unused area south of the television tower is absolutely ideal for spending the night. We found a lovely parking bay overlooking the river and had a completely undisturbed, peaceful night. Unfortunately, many users leave their rubbish here—probably mostly locals who drive their cars to secluded spots. The indication that a 4x4 is required is nonsense.

I have traveled through many countries and have always trusted my gut when choosing a place, without ever having problems. Here, I immediately had a negative feeling. Shortly after arriving, I was offered sexual services and shady-looking people were hanging around. I will not spend the night here. To each their own, but I cannot recommend this place in good conscience.

Very poor access, but it is worth it. We had a very peaceful night; the only nuisances were the mosquitoes. You can find a place to spend the night anywhere on the southern part of the island.

Quiet place in nature within Riga. Perfect for spending the night in a natural setting without leaving the city. The sandy road is flat, ideal for parking. Some movement of cars and people, mostly fishermen. It also seems to be a gay cruising spot, but it is not bothersome. Very peaceful overall.

Great spot in the middle of Riga. Quiet at night, apart from a couple of locals visiting the island. One long-term camper there. It takes about an hour to walk from the tip to the old town. No 4x4 needed.

best place to spend a night in Riga! Beats any hotel.. Gives you nature all around. Sunset, sunrise, and the Latvian morning mist without moving.

Unpaved road leading to wonderful parking spots in small bays directly by the water. Our 4x4 Bulli handled it without problems, and locals drive here in ordinary passenger cars. I cannot judge how suitable it is for motorhomes and vans. We liked it so much that we stayed for two nights :-)

The place was okay for one night. Quite a lot of people, especially anglers, but it was still quiet at night. Uneven road, but manageable with the camper. If you drive toward the bridge and park there, you can reach the city center on foot in 30–40 minutes.

Great place before or after visiting Rīga. You can obviously hear the city traffic and boats, they didn't bother me. Some small shaded corners here. There is a small but steady stream of visitors during the day (it was warm and sunny). Access should be okay for most vehicles, watch out for rocks if you have low clearance. After rain it may be more difficult.

One of the best places I have had in a long time. Where else can you camp on an island in the middle of a capital city? There is some rubbish around, but it is tolerable. The city noises can of course be heard. Even on Sunday morning there were relatively few people.
