A well-maintained riverside campsite near York, with peaceful pitches, friendly staff and very clean sanitary facilities. Some pitches are uneven, so levelling blocks may be useful, and the site is described as expensive. York is accessible by bus or river shuttle, with a pub nearby.

A top,top campsite, not the cheapest, but our pitch right by the river was outstanding, peaceful, quiet, and friendly. Just pull out your chairs and watch the world go by. Brilliant . Had a first class meal in the Ship Inn. A bus trip into York, what a city. It was a great short break all round . Will definitely be going back.
Warm welcome, great site by the river. Cozy pub very close by with delicious food. There is apparently a bus into town.
Very beautiful place; you can go to York by boat (1 hour) or by bus (20 minutes). The only drawback is the price, £90 for two nights. In any case, the showers are very clean and the place is very pleasant.
August. Very warm welcome, helpful, available and friendly people. Very clean facilities. We were in a field with very short, well-maintained grass. The ground was not very level, so leveling blocks were useful. 150 m from a landing stage for a river shuttle to York (£16 return per person, and not every day). Very quiet. Expensive: £45 with electricity for 2 people.
A very clean campsite in a pretty location by the river. York is easy to reach by bus or boat. The boat runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays (from 23 July and throughout August). The pub next door is currently closed and will reopen on 1 August 2024. In the neighboring village, 2.5 km away on foot, you can also enjoy a pleasant meal.
A lovely view over the water. Facilities were good, probably due a bit of updating. Pub on site but didn’t visit it. People there were friendly including the owner. Lots of rules. Key for the toilet which helps keep them clean I guess. £60 for 2 nights for 1 person
nice and functional. very friendly people. one point off because playground very small, water tab dropping and no waste separation (at least not visible).
Nice campsite on the riverbank. Firm ground, so rain is not a problem. The staff were very friendly and the facilities clean. On some days a boat shuttle goes to York; otherwise you can take the bus, which stops directly at the campsite entrance. There is a pub next door.
Absolutely the best campsite we've been to in England and Scotland. Definitely the cleanest. The view is gorgeous by the river, and the facilities are SO clean!! Plenty of showers too! Even the black water disposal area was pristine. The owner was lovely too and it was a fast and easy introduction to everything . Pub right next to the campsite too! 10/10
Great campsite by the water. Facilities and showers well maintained. Friendly staff. Bus stop nearby for York. £40 in July for one night.
