Been here?
Large parking area on the Wurmberg ski slope in the Harz Mountains, with hiking trails, mountain views and a nearby restaurant. Recent reports describe confusing signage: lower areas may prohibit motorhomes, while upper areas have been reported for parking between 08:00 and 22:00, with overnight rules unclear. A 24h ticket costs 15 €, and toilets are available 24/7 for 50 cent. The area can be crowded during ski season.

At this time of year (summer), everything is empty and you can probably park anywhere. We stayed far up. The signs are very confusing. But since you can get a 24-hour motorhome ticket at the pay machine, we took the chance. We were alone with another camper. Nice view, restaurant, and toilet. We thought it was great!
Really misleading: the lower parking areas are completely closed to motorhomes. In the upper ones, you can park between 8:00 and 22:00, but you are not allowed to spend the night, even though you can buy a 24-hour day ticket.
We were there at the end of January 2027. The highest levels also have signs saying that motorhomes are not allowed. The signs differ only in that the lower levels have a crossed-out sign, while the upper ones add the word “no.” We left this forest of signs, and there were no other motorhomes there either.
Really beautifully located site at Hexenritt. We stayed for three whole days because my daughter had booked a ski course there. Excellent location directly by the alpine pasture. Toilets open 24/7 for €0.50, although on the winter weekend they weren't worth the money: only toilet paper was replenished and cleaning was unfortunately not done. Early in the morning, employees arrived with machines to clear snow. Many day visitors during the day, otherwise very quiet. Motorhomes may stay in the two upper spaces. €15 per 24 hours at the machine or via app. Automatic license-plate recognition on entry and exit.
The parking area is very large, and the sanitary facilities (€0.50 per toilet visit) are spotlessly clean and open 24 hours. We can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant directly at the parking area. The owner and staff are very friendly, and the food is delicious. The owner is also happy to welcome campers.
€15 for 24 hours from entry is perfectly reasonable for the location. Very quiet at night; we were alone here. A few cars arrived during the day, but relatively few. Toilet facilities available for €0.50.
Great spot; we were completely alone here. Absolute peace and quiet. You really have to drive all the way to the top. We thought the €15 was perfectly reasonable.
