Been here?
4x4 access only
Getting here needs an off-road vehicle. Check your ground clearance before setting off.
This off-road spot sits beside a track and turning area, with a beautiful view over the valley. The demanding approach includes a very rocky 2.5km climb and is recommended only for vehicles such as a Defender or Sprinter with 4x4, good ground clearance and low range. Up to 3 vans can fit together, and a water point is about 1 kilometer before the destination. Alpine-road parking is strongly regulated, so check the rules before travelling.

The challenging drive up was well worth it—wonderful here! Peace and views; I had the place all to myself. :-) I would not recommend anything below the level of a Defender or Sprinter: all-wheel drive, sufficient ground clearance, and low range are needed.
Very nice, peaceful place. There is a water point at the second-to-last chalet before arrival, about one kilometre from the destination. The sun went behind the mountain at 8:40 p.m. and returned at 8:00 a.m. the next morning.
Very peaceful spot, with nobody else around. Plenty of room for three vans if you are together. Just before the start of the trail is Mlle Clémence’s farm, where we bought cheese (cow and goat). Four cheeses and one sausage cost us €20.
Be careful: parking on the mountain roads of Beaufortain is heavily regulated. Find out the rules before planning your trip.
Great spot! Could it be reclassified as off-road? I almost left my Vito there, and it is impossible to turn around once you start climbing.
