Been here?
A small, discreet hiking parking area serving the Matmora trail, with uneven ground and limited space. It can be used for one night, but leaving 4 meters between vehicles may leave room for fewer than two. The area is popular for hiking, especially during midnight sun season, and is unsuitable for larger motorhomes.

Ideal and discreet parking area for spending one night. If the four-metre gaps between vehicles are maintained, not even two vehicles would fit. You have to be considerate and try to allow more people to park in the area. Good parking area for starting the route to Matmora.Translating
It’s a popular hiking parking lot, especially for midnight sun hikes (2am) in the summer. As such you should not camp / sleep the night
Parking at the start of the very popular Matmora hike, for about ten cars, with very uneven ground and branches overhead, and no views (the old photo is misleading!). Even in a car, it is difficult to get out when it is full and vehicles are parked in all directions. Absolutely avoid it with a motorhome. More attractive and larger spaces are available on Midnattsolveien, by the sea to the east and by the lake to the west.Translating
We wanted to stop here and go hiking. Unfortunately, the car park was full. Besides a few cars, there were three campers that looked as though they had spent the night there and were still sleeping. An absolute no-go, because it is a hiking car park. Please be considerate. Since there were no other parking options, we had to abandon the hike :(Translating
Fantastic! Three white-tailed sea eagles spotted on the beach opposite the parking area! What a pleasant surprise!!Translating
very busy parking, it was full of cars when we arrived (on a Monday evening). I think it would annoy locals if people stayed here for too long. we went somewhere else.
Hiking parking for the start of the hike. Small. And you have to park properly for people to fit in. We didn’t stay over night. Just for the hike. It isn’t even.
Parking at the start of a hiking trail. Space for two small vehicles, three at most. Slightly set back from the road and separated from it by vegetation. The surroundings were clean when we arrived but covered in toilet paper when we left the next day, due to the occupants of the vehicle that had shared the space.Translating
The location shown in the photos is difficult to access, with stones between it and the Matmora trailhead parking area. We were able to park in the hiking parking area's recess. The ground is very muddy and uneven; maneuvering is not recommended for motorhomes, but vans are fine. Very quiet and sheltered from the wind. You can walk to the seaside to see the midnight sun in 2 minutes.Translating
The parking area is fine for doing the route, but it is very small and only accommodates a few motorhomes. When it rains, it fills with puddles and can be dangerous.Translating
Quiet place to spend the night before or after the hike and see the midnight sun. Fairly sheltered from the wind. It has a few potholes, but nothing a van cannot handle. A little narrow for motorhomes; I would not recommend it for them, but I do recommend it for vans.Translating
