Mountain pass parking, quiet nights

Excellent spot near hiking trails. Toilets accessible during the day, drinking water available, a picnic room, and two parking areas (one quieter below, and one flatter in front of the restaurant above). There is even a sheepfold where we were able to buy goat cheese. Very quiet and ideal for spending the night!

Parking at the Prat de Bouc pass with a beautiful panorama! No services (public toilets out of service). Overnight stays possible. Hiking trail starts nearby.

Flat asphalt parking, pass altitude 1,392 m, no shade. Many hikers' vehicles during the day, very quiet at night. Beautiful views of the mountains and summer pastures. Start of the climb to Plomb, via the wide path or the more challenging GR trail. Drinking water near the Maison du Col garage.

Quite a quiet place, restaurant and toilets available, hiking possible.

We spent two very quiet nights in the parking area. Great hiking and mountain biking. Unfortunately, on July 12 the pass was invaded by around a hundred off-road vehicles that took over the slopes of Plomb du Cantal. Noise and pollution, unacceptable. So we left to find peace elsewhere.

Large asphalt parking area. Very quiet night under the snow. Snowplough passed early in the morning. I recommend the restaurant. Warm welcome and home-cooked dishes; everything is perfect.

We spent two nights in the lower parking area below the buron. Extremely quiet nights, with the sound of the stream in the background and an amazing view of Plomb du Cantal when waking up. Hiking trails start here, including Plomb du Cantal and the waterfalls.

Great place outside summer, unless you have dogs, as they are forbidden everywhere on the hiking trails. We went a little farther down, where it was quiet and there were trails to walk our dogs.

Thank you for allowing us to stay overnight. But shhh, don't tell anyone; it has to remain a secret place, lol. Honestly, a peaceful night on almost-flat ground; you really don't need leveling blocks. Great hike towards Plomb. In short, we loved it. We didn't have time to try the buron, but that will be next time.

We wanted to climb Plomb du Cantal and do other hikes. This parking area is available to all vehicles, if there is space. It gives you the opportunity to sleep, eat, and fill your water bottles for free (thanks to the municipality). Yes, there is no electricity or dumping facility, but what a haven of peace.

No snow, so there are beautiful walks to do on the cross-country ski trails.

Very quiet night in a parking area with a few reasonably flat spaces opposite the buron. Public toilets nearby. Maison du Col de Prat de Bouc closed (opens for the winter season). What a pleasure to wake up among the Cantal Mountains! The Plomb du Cantal hike is magnificent; you can climb via the wide, prepared trail, which is less steep and less difficult.

Quiet place for the night, with hikes nearby. The Buron restaurant is excellent and offers great value for money.
