Been here?
A small mountain campsite at an altitude of 900m, offering basic services and a good starting point for hikes. Recent reports mention quiet natural surroundings, modern toilets and showers, restaurant facilities and shaded grassy pitches, but access can be very difficult for motorhomes and dogs are not allowed. It is currently closed for renovations following Storm Kirk in October 2024.

Small mountain campsite resembling a refuge, with very new showers and toilets, and a beautiful location for starting hikes. Unfortunately, when you return from a hike, you find one motorhome parked one meter from your van and eight tents, two of them right next to your table. No privacy at all: unbearable noise and barking, even though dogs were supposedly not welcome. A place to avoid after all.
Campsite extremely difficult to access for motorhomes, even impossible, because the roads are unsuitable. After all that trouble, when we arrived the campsite had been reserved by the army, so there was no space. The welcome was truly shabby; not worth the detour!
Dogs are not allowed at all in the campground. Wish it were clearly stated in the description before I drove up...
Very beautiful small campsite in an excellent location for hikes on remote mountain trails of all difficulty levels. Particularly suitable for those interested in geology. The campsite has a restaurant, some shaded pitches, disposal facilities, and modern washrooms and toilets. The site manager, Fillipe, is extremely accommodating and always willing to help. Top rating!
Nature campsite. Adequate sanitary facilities. Beautiful surroundings; no phone signal, which for us is actually an attraction.
Set your expectations before you arrive for a simple, rustic camping experience and you will not be disappointed. Lovely environment with a selection of local walks and a great welcome from the staff. Don’t miss the waterfall a couple of km away, especially if it’s rained recently.
Very well-run campsite, clean and very quiet, an ideal starting point for hikes in the surrounding area.
A fantastic place in the middle of nature. Beautiful walking routes. Warm welcome from the owner. Delicious traditional Portuguese meals. Toilets and showers spotlessly clean. Everyone very friendly. Highly recommended!
