Free grassy parking, no services

Excellent spot for spending the night. Close to the lovely village of Collobrières.

The place itself is nice, but very weird atmosphere! People sitting outside their caravans, looking grumpy. It looked like people are parked there for longer term perhaps? When I got out of my car several dogs came running off-leash that were not at all happy to see me… felt unsafe and unwelcome so I left immediately.

Wonderful place where you feel welcome and can even bring out your picnic things. Beautiful village and well-marked hiking trails. Many thanks to the municipality!

We spent four nights here. Beautiful, quiet and friendly place. We went on several hikes. It is a shame there is no water at the waste-disposal station at the far end of the village.

We stopped here on March 10 and 11. Thank you to the municipality for providing the area. We bought some groceries and bread and emptied our gray and black water at the other end of the village.

THANK YOU to the town hall for providing two very large free pitches just a short walk from the pretty village. Waste disposal is next to the recycling center. There is no water, unfortunately. Do not miss Restaurant Chez Pa: excellent food and homemade desserts, plus a great welcome! Also visit the butcher and delicatessen for dry sausages in various flavors—a real treat.

Very beautiful place with a lovely village. Many small shops, restaurants and bars. For us it was simply perfect; it is wonderful that places like this still exist.

Pretty provincial village, perfect for hiking. The motorhome area is pleasant and free—rare in the region! No services, however. Go eat at Chez Pa; it is excellent.

Great if you are self-sufficient; we use it as a base for our excursions. Levelling wedges are also needed. Otherwise quiet despite the road. Thanks to the truly beautiful village; bakery, butcher, bars and a small supermarket are all within walking distance.

Place with several long-term campers. An unkempt dog wanders around freely. Loud barking at night too. Many cars also drove past during the night. Quiet is not the word here. The drive here is not worth it. On the way back, unfortunately, we ended up on a very narrow, winding road.

A place for being self-sufficient, very clean and pleasant, with a picnic table if needed. There are also many sites nearby where you can park peacefully. Thanks to the municipality of Collobrières; we always spend money where we can park. We even stayed two nights.

I appreciated the peacefulness of this motorhome area. I give it two stars because there are no services apart from two or three waste containers along the site. The village is a little far on foot, unfortunately; five minutes by bicycle. Pretty village. We stopped here for one night to pick some parasol mushrooms, chanterelles and saffron milk caps the next morning at Babaou Pass.

Thanks to the small municipality of Collobrières for its warm welcome. The village is beautiful and makes you want to return, especially for the chestnut festivals. Great walks on foot and by bicycle!

Visit the charterhouse 11 km away, and the lovely village with its narrow streets and colorful, flower-filled houses; delicious chestnut ice cream. Thanks to the municipality; thanks to the area, we spent well in the village, so everyone benefits. You absolutely must come on one of the three weekends of the chestnut festival!

Had a lovely 2 nights here. Sun or shade - your choice. Village has bakery, food shop, bars, restaurants, and walks up through the woods. There is a chestnut festival on over the rest of this month (October), and this parking area is not available for campervan parking/overnights.

We slept here for two nights for the third time. The parking area is still just as pleasant. Good hikes and delicious chestnut ice cream.

Everything has already been said about this place. If arriving from Grimaud, vehicles over 8 m are prohibited. Twenty kilometers of bends, so be comfortable handling the size of your motorhome.

Great quiet place with the sound of cicadas! Excellent shade! You must be self-sufficient for electricity and water.

Also used during the Maures trail. We slept very well, although there was some car traffic on the road until midnight. The village is quickly accessible on foot, about 10 minutes.

Very large meadow for parking, with a few trees for those who prefer shade and bins nearby. At the village entrance there is a place to dump waste and refill water, but it has been closed for some time, which is a shame. Still, thanks to the municipality of Collobrières for welcoming us; it is a very welcoming little village.

Today, Thursday, is market day, but only in the market square; the narrow road through the village is not restricted by the market. After driving through the village, there is this very large motorhome meadow where we are now parked very well, although there are only rubbish bins here.

Beautiful area to explore and definitely recommended.

Very convenient. I spent one night here on the eve of the Maures trail, nine minutes on foot from the race start. Perfect.

Large grassy site at the exit of Collobrières, famous for its chestnuts and ice cream. Very quiet, with a small river flowing below and a picnic table available. Thanks to the municipality for making this place available.

Pleasant, quiet and clean parking area. Thanks to the municipality for allowing us to park. It is increasingly rare to be welcomed so well in the Var. Collobrières deserves a stop. A friendly little town. Thanks again to the residents and municipality. We motorhome travelers will keep this place clean and quiet.

Everything you need is available except water and electricity. Beautiful village where you can enjoy the liveliness if you stay there. Lovely walking area. If it rains, it gets very muddy, but that is what shoes are for, right?

Perfect place, free and located a few hundred meters outside the village. No problem parking on the large grassy area, even after the heavy rain in previous weeks. The previous comment mentioned an impassable field, but that is actually just before the parking area, and it is indeed best not to venture there.

As of 19 October 2024, the site is unusable because it has been worked. The result is that it is covered in mud.

Nice parking place just a few minutes walk of the centre of Collobrières. Listening to the howling wolves in the forest at night was special and calming.
