This large, flat gravel parking area is free and offers a scenic, bucolic place for an overnight stay. Tables, benches, a bin, a small stream, and hiking routes are available directly from the site. Nights are usually quiet, although traffic begins around 5 am and daytime noise can be noticeable. The nearby Kneipp pool was empty in late June 2026.

I have now been here for the second time. It is a very clean and spacious place with a beautiful view. Bins and seating are available. Hiking is possible directly from this parking area.
Great for one night. Lots of space! Traffic starts picking up a little from 5 a.m., but it did not bother me. I was completely alone there on a weekend. Lots of fireflies in the evening :) Unfortunately, the Kneipp pool is currently empty (late June). There is a bin by the pond and tables and benches.
Still free of charge. The large area is relatively noisy during the day because of traffic, but absolutely quiet at night. Highly recommended.

Beautifully located and quiet until about 5 a.m. Then the road noise begins. A good starting point for hiking and cycling. The place was very clean; I hope it stays that way so such places can remain available.
Cleared of snow this winter. A wonderfully quiet night, and hikes to the Inselsberg on cleared paths. Telekom 4G network.
