This motorhome reception area, however generously it may claim to be, is located in an Nr zone (remarkable natural area) of the Château d'Oléron local development plan, which prohibits any type of accommodation. In addition, this land, surrounded by scrubland that the owners do not maintain, adjoins a protected woodland area. During this heatwave, hosting sometimes more than 10 vehicles is irresponsible.✦Translating

The owners are extremely kind: on the day we arrived, they welcomed us with a convivial and genuine aperitif. A true moment of sharing that perfectly reflects their hospitality. We spent three nights on Patrick's grounds, and he is a very friendly person. There was a little aperitif on the day we arrived. I recommend it for motorhome travelers who appreciate authenticity. For TV and Wi-Fi addicts, there are none, but there are peaceful holidays beside the cycle path.

Thanks to Patrick for his wonderful welcome. You should be held up as an example to many other hosts who charge for parking and are much less welcoming than you. Thank you for the convivial moment we shared during my visit.

I am responding to Mrs. VEERLEVAES's comment. There is no mess, but a caravan generously made available to possible seasonal workers. She lets her dog roam and even frightened my Chihuahua. The heated phone call concerned the owner and his insurance, away from the site. The beer offered was not her preferred brand. Judge this comment in the context of a free location!!!

I don't see the plus side. The site is full of junk. The owner invites you for an aperitif (which is charming in itself), but I did not really feel I could refuse. In the morning, the man was shouting so loudly on the phone that my dog crawled under the seat in fear. I give an extra star because it is all well-intentioned, but this is not really a place of peace and beauty.

However, some conversations may not suit those seeking more discretion and restraint.

We stopped at Patrick's last Thursday. Thanks to him for his warm welcome over a shared aperitif with the other campers that evening. The next day, Patrick offered to bring us croissants and chocolate pastries, and he even drove us to the market. An original and friendly welcome where you can choose whether or not to linger.
