Been here?
A large, free and quiet parking area in the woods above Lillehammer, beside the Olympic ski-jumping hill and near the biathlon stadium. It has firm, mostly level ground, plenty of space and views over the valley, but no toilets, bins or other services. The ski jump is about a 5-minute walk away, and the city is about 15 minutes by bicycle, with a very steep return. Nights are generally peaceful.

Free parking with enough space for campers of all sizes. Very quiet nights. No facilities. A good alternative to the paid parking areas nearby. By bicycle, you can reach the center within 15 minutes; the return journey is very steep, but manageable with an electric mountain bike or similar.
Beautiful large parking area, with about 10 other vans spread around the site. Quiet, peaceful and clean. Benches are available by the ski jump, making it lovely for an evening meal with a beautiful view.
Quiet, excellent parking area, very close to the ski jump and biathlon stadium. No service or waste-disposal facilities; absolutely beautiful nature.
Great starting point for hikes, visiting the city, etc. Unfortunately, people sleeping in cars and vehicles with rooftop tents make a lot of noise late into the night and leave feces and toilet paper in the bushes. Dear people, RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER PEOPLE!
Very quiet at night. You can walk down to the city in about an hour. Completely free.
Large, flat parking area with a stable surface. Very close to the ski-jump building. Very quiet night.
Quiet night together with other campers. Good for a stopover.
Very good spot with plenty of space for visiting Lillehammer. The ski jump is accessible on foot, and a roller-ski track passes just above it in summer. It is very quiet in the evening and at night. No bins, so please respect the place and take all your rubbish with you if you want to enjoy it in the future.
We liked the parking area; it is located above the ski jump. It was quiet at night and the parking area is spacious. There are no bins, and unfortunately toilet paper is already lying in the bushes around it. So please take your rubbish with you.
Great location. Tall trees provide shade from the morning sun. No toilets, so please clean up after yourself before leaving. Great views over the valley.
Excellent spot. Quiet, lots of space. 5 mins Walk to the top of the ski slope - great view.
Lovely spot next to the ski jump. Perfectly peaceful for one night.
Very beautiful, quiet place, within walking distance of the ski-jump facility. The only negative is that it is the only place in Norway with traces left by other campers. The paths through the bushes are toilet paths with paper and rubbish ❗️Absolutely unacceptable—take your waste with you!
Very pleasant setting in the middle of the woods, clean and free, with plenty of space regardless of vehicle size. Perfect in any weather. You can watch roller skiers training right next to the parking area.
We had a good overnight stay here. The ski jump is easily reachable on foot.
Great for one night. Just a few meters from the ski jump. Amazing view.
A very beautiful place for one night, and the viewpoint at the ski jump is wonderful. The only downside is all the waste left in the forest—it is a disgrace!
Perfect for spending the night! Completely quiet!
Perfect place for an overnight stay. It was very quiet, the area was perfectly cleared, and the approach via Nordsetervegen was trouble-free. No services—take your rubbish with you. And be sure to visit the viewpoint at Kanten Kro. Very beautiful view of Lillehammer.
An excellent, natural and very peaceful spot. Athletes training on the nearby roller-ski track are not a nuisance. Ideal location for watching ski-jump training on the Lysgårds jumps, 300 m away.
More than adequate for one night! You can park close to the edge of the forest and look out onto greenery. A route used by athletes for training runs around the site. You can hear them, as well as trucks, but only during the day.
Definitely ideal for one night with a dog! It was pleasantly quiet; a few hikers and athletes come by in the morning. Unfortunately there are no toilets or rubbish disposal, so take your rubbish with you and don't leave it behind!
For a quiet night, this is a really great and free place to stay. Unfortunately, the bushes all around are full of feces, and a lot of rubbish—oil canisters, car parts, food scraps—has been dumped in the forest. Please take your rubbish with you!
Large free parking area among the trees. Starting point for hikes. Close to the ski-jump starting area. Quiet. Plenty of space so you are not parked right next to one another.
Quiet parking area next to the ski jump, free, lots of spaces and a great view of Lillehammer.
Perfect spot, lots of spaces so you won’t need to arrive early to secure a spot. Good privacy even if lots of people are there. Close to a creek to go swimming and lots to see walking around.
This parking area is free. The previous comment refers to the parking area across the street.
We only parked there for hiking. It costs 40 NOK per hour and 100 NOK per day. You can take a beautiful hike into the valley if you follow the route along the river with its many small waterfalls. Unfortunately, I can only confirm the rubbish problem.
Great quiet place without sanitary facilities. Unfortunately, the bin was overflowing and rubbish was scattered all around. Otherwise, a quiet night, and in the morning it was interesting to watch the athletes training. From there, it is also great to view the ski jump from above and walk down. Three of us stayed there.
Very quiet, no toilets and a starting point for hikes. Great.
Actually a great place, but in winter people sometimes drift here until late at night.
