Perfect as free daytime parking. At the end of July, in the middle of the week, it was practically empty, and the town is reachable on foot in a few minutes. I would not risk sleeping there at night: there are many signs trying to discourage it (€300 fine). Inexplicable given the space and lack of crowds, but that is how it is. Perfect for visiting the mining park.
There are motorhome parking bans throughout the town. Only the parking area by the sea can be used from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. At the supermarket, security staff told me at 6 p.m. that the parking area could only be used until 7 p.m. and that overnight stays were impossible. The supermarket was open until 8:30 p.m. The town does not like motorhomes. There are nicer and friendlier places. Spend your money elsewhere.
A very convenient place for campers with plenty of space, but why stay in a town that does not want you? Avoid Rio Marina and do not spend money here.
Beautiful and quiet.
Very convenient for parking and taking a walk around the town, the mines, or the black beach, which you can reach directly on foot by continuing from the parking area.
The parking area above the road is now completely closed to motorhomes—the one shown in the photos with gravel and grass. That is not a problem, since the lower one offers a wonderful front-row panorama. Perfect for exploring the town, with a continuous footpath. Please respect the prohibitions, otherwise more places will be closed.
Good parking area if you want to leave the car while visiting the town or going out to eat. However, it is not suitable for overnight stays: they are prohibited, and it is also very noisy with continuous traffic.
Excellent parking area for visiting Rio Marina. Pretty little town, small beach, lots of restaurants. Ideal starting point for hikes or bike rides. Overnight stays are prohibited!
