32 Esplanade Road, TQ4 6BL
Been here?
A seafront parking area with a beautiful beach view and overnight stays currently costing £12.40 for 24 hours. Toilets cost 30p, while outdoor showers and nearby water are available; shops, the pier, fish and chips, the station and Lidl are close. The bays are very narrow and recent reports indicate they suit vehicles up to 5.50m, with strict enforcement against overhanging. Nights can be quiet, although seagulls, waves, traffic and music have also been reported.

lovely quiet beach front to stay overnight 24 hrs cost £12.40, toilets on pier are 30p. close to town centre. no noise at night. fish n chips on the pier are some of the best we have had.
The spaces are suitable only for cars up to a maximum of 5.50 m.
We are in a 6.1m motorhome, impossible to park and not hang over front & back. We are about 0.4m over back. 0.25m overhang on front cobbles. Spaces very narrow, no room to open side door when anyone parks next door. Mega busy. Seagulls are an absolute nightmare, constantly landing on van with such force, scratching the roof. Seriously, unless you are in a campervan, i would go elsewhere.
Spent the night here 26/11/2025. The esplanade to the left of the access road/pier currently has fencing up for construction however, there are still plenty of parking spaces to the right. We managed to park in the first bay nearest to the pier which is conveniently a very short walk to the toilets. 30p to use the loo is reasonable and 1 of the toilets is open late so no issues. We’ll be back here
If you over hang you will get a ticket ! must be in bay only ! we are 7m. Do not park here if you can’t fit in the pay - £25 fine paid writhing 2 weeks ! i also appealed - didn’t work. We literally just over. Parked safe !
Amazing site waves sounds all night would definitely return
Be very very aware here … I live locally and the traffic wardens are nazis . They will ticket ANYONE OR ANYTHING that is not TOTALLY within the regulations. Not one of them has any common sense or understanding and they love their job !!! Tall lanky grey one is the absolute worst but the others are snapping at his heels. They are clearly on a bonus for the amount of tickets given.
paid my fair share of fines here. I no longer pay at all, and leave before 7am before the wardens arrive. they fine you for being an inch over the line or the stone wall, despite it not being an official bay marking.
We were here today and saw 2 different traffic wardens at 2 different times of the day ticketing all the motorhomes that were sticking out onto the cobbled wall plus any vans that had bike racks sticking out onto the cobbled wall. Nobody walks along the wall so I'm not sure why this is even a problem. It has no effect on pedestrians walking along the sea front either.
One night stopova with no issues! perhaps due to being out of peak season. our van is 6.3m no notices to state you have to park a certain way or be within the lines. After reading other comments we were on edge and thought we may have got a fine. Thankfully we didn't. Toilets 30p not bad but the outdoor showers didn't work. Amazing sunset and sunrise! and plenty of bins to leave your rubbish.
Been here 3 nights now, didn't pay first 2 as arrived late left early. I paid for 24 hours today so I could chill all day. Traffic warden was OK, got chatting with him and he's basically doing his job. I'm on my last night now 12.45am Saturday and a lot of boy racers around. All in all a lovely spot to stay. Sunrise on a clear morning and waves crashing all night for a nice relaxing sleep
great place if you are in a small van. just woken up to a 50 pound fine as our front wheel was slightly out of the bay.
Nice spot. Just be aware 1st May - 25th September there is a "Bike Night" on Wednesdays. No parking on the Eastern Esplanade from 3pm -10:30pm.
We parked here overnight on the 7th September. Wish we hadn't! Got up in the morning to a parking ticket! We have a 5.9m Hymer, so we were too big for the space but if we backed into the space, the overhang just fitted nicely over the small wall without blocking the pavement. Apparently, according to the traffic warden, overhanging the small wall was obstruction. AVOID IT COST US £50 £12 TO PARK!
We spent one night here. Beautiful scenery, quiet despite the circus. But beware, the police patrol very often. We received a fine because apparently our van was sticking out onto the road.
our first night away in the new van that wasn't a campsite. Arrived about 6.30 in the evening, not too many spaces but found one about halfway down, followed the advice about parking over the wall ( swb custom so not a problem) went into town for a few hours and got back to van about 11. Quiet night and a perfect night's sleep, toilets and coffee shack nearby
Stayed overnight for £11.90. Parking officers walked by and all was fine. A little noise due to parts of the funfair packing up and circus lorries arriving but all in all a good nights sleep. Waking up listening to the sea and the views was priceless. Definitely recommend
stayed this week actually broke down on the Monday and had to wait for parts til Friday paid parking on app for 2 night didn't pay for the rest only saw 1 traffic warden that didn't even ask or look at van . parking machines don't say anything about anything on parking overnight that's why went through the app as paid and get text and email for 24hr slot . toilets close at 9pm and aren't clean
