Chazau, 42520, Malleval
Been here?
Flat, quiet parking beside a tennis court, with superb views over vineyards and the valley. The pleasant medieval village is 1.5km away and offers several walking routes. There are no services, but selective-recycling bins are available. Avoid parking near the tennis court on Friday evenings, and approach via Lupé to avoid the medieval village’s narrow streets.

Places we love. Fairly flat parking area, superb view of the vineyards and valley. Pleasant village, especially the medieval side. Harry Potter fans: a craftsman makes superb, unique magic wands. Beautiful hikes to enjoy. Avoid parking near the tennis court on Friday evening because of a pétanque competition with a refreshment stand. Separate recycling bins.
Large parking area near the cemetery, 1.5 km from the village. No need to cross the medieval village. No services. Separate recycling.
We stayed one night at the site. There really is a great view. It is relatively high and was quite windy for a roof tent. The whole area is level and there is enough space.
Tip: drive via Lupé to the parking area, not via Malleval. This avoids the very narrow streets in the medieval town. Beautiful view from the parking area. Picturesque town from which several hikes begin.
Perfect for a quiet night, flat ground, rubbish containers nearby.
Great place, incredible view... a little windy, but that is normal at this altitude.
Very quiet place with a beautiful 360-degree view. Numerous hiking opportunities, with good information, and a lovely medieval village.
Very pleasant spot, magnificent view, with the possibility of parking on level ground—two paved spaces.
Very beautiful, super-flat and peaceful spot! Very little traffic on the road; we stayed one night. Note: it was October, Sunday morning, and we were surrounded by hunters who came to have breakfast!
