Been here?
Camping Boschetto di Piemma is about 1.7 km from San Gimignano, with shaded areas and pitches on different levels. A bus stops directly outside and costs 1,30€ per ride, while the town is reachable by bicycle in 15 minutes. Sanitary facilities are clean with hot water, although some are dated. The nearby football field can be noisy at weekends, and campervan pitches may be slightly sloping.

The reception was mediocre and the information inadequate. We were not told that we had to collect tickets for the outdoor pool at reception. The requirement to wear swimming caps was not mentioned either. For €46 per night, nothing is offered apart from clean sanitary facilities—completely overpriced.
Well-located site. A bus runs directly from the campsite to San Gimignano. We had bicycles and reached the town center within 15 minutes. Lots of tree shade. Motorhome pitches in the rear section are slightly sloping, so leveling blocks are advisable. So far, the best sanitary facilities on our tour of Tuscany. Cost for a campervan, three people, including electricity in June 2026: €54.50.
Good site for reaching the town on foot. At reception you could get tickets for the swimming pool next door, where swimming caps are required.
Ideal campsite for visiting San Gimignano. The bus stops right outside. The sanitary facilities are clean and the showers pleasantly hot. If you dislike noise, we were on the football-field side, with lots of noise and shouting, Italian-style, on Saturday and Sunday at least. Otherwise, spacious pitches and easy access even with a large motorhome.
Campsite very well located for visiting Gimignano on foot or with the shuttle bus that stops in front of the campsite (€1.30). Grass pitch in the quiet blue zone. No Wi-Fi and a little far from the sanitary facilities. The facilities are old but clean, and the water is hot. The lady at reception is very pleasant. €43 for two people. Gray-water disposal and fresh-water filling are outside the campsite toward the motorhome area.
The lady at reception was very friendly; we were allowed to choose from four pitches. The toilet and shower are fine, with wonderfully hot water. The bus stops outside. Great campsite for two days.
A good campsite for exploring the area. Pleasant restaurant at the campsite. Service building perfectly adequate. The downsides are poor Wi-Fi signal in parts of the site and protruding branches that could easily have been cut back to make vehicle access easier. We entered with our 9-meter motorhome.
Good campsite for visiting San Gimignano. The bus stops in front of the entrance, takes five minutes, and costs €1.30 per ride. The Wi-Fi signal is good. The bathrooms are worn but acceptable for one night.
Campsite perfectly located for visiting the town. The SG1 bus stops in front of the campsite and provides excellent service.
Good campsite for visiting San Gimignano. There is a bus stop at the campsite entrance. The showers are old but clean, with excellent water pressure. Our pitch was far from reception and the Wi-Fi signal was somewhat weak. There is no gray-water disposal at the campsite; you have to use an external disposal area next door.
Very quiet, shaded campsite. The municipal shuttle is very convenient for visiting the town. Personally, we were not very satisfied with the lady at checkout, who unprofessionally gave us fragmented information and had little charm. The pitches do not have Wi-Fi coverage. The chemical-toilet disposal area is inconvenient.
Well located for visiting San Gimignano. Twenty minutes on foot, 2 km. There are buses. Very impersonal reception. Gray-water disposal is outside, with no information provided.
Quiet site. The road did not bother us. The town is easily reachable on foot.
Relaxed check-in. Staff were somewhat unmotivated, but it was okay. A sports facility next door is used until evening; we did not find it disturbing, although it was admittedly loud. Bus stop directly outside—€1.30 for a single trip into town. Sanitary facilities were clean.
Great staff, clean, nice showers, quiet, walk to the bus to San Gimignano was easy. Restaurant was always full and people reported it was good. We did not check out the camping store.
It is mid-October. Acorns fall onto the motorhome roof, and the showers and toilets are old and have seen better days. Shower water is lukewarm. Reception is annoyed and unfriendly. Construction next door, with noise and racket all day. Then there is also the football field with training until late at night. The location is good and so is the restaurant. I will not return.
Many shaded pitches for campers; we stayed for three nights and were very satisfied overall. On arrival we were given a choice of three pitches and received a friendly welcome. The on-site restaurant is highly recommended; on request they also arrange bread and croissants in the morning. A very good base for exploring San Gimignano, for example by e-bike. A day bike tour to the old town of Certaldo is also worthwhile.
Expensive at €38 per night for two adults and a camper in mid-October. The welcome was not very friendly, but we were given a couple of pitch options. The upper area near reception is very shaded. The yellow area is nice. Great sanitary facilities, very clean. It is misleading to advertise a pool—it is a municipal one next door and looked as though it had not been open for quite some time.
We stayed for two nights; it was okay and has different levels. The toilets and showers are getting old. The restaurant was incredibly tasty and truly recommended. The town is very easy to reach on foot or by bus.
We booked online and initially received confirmation, followed by a cancellation. We drove there anyway and got a pitch in the blue zone for one night. The site itself has very good infrastructure, and the restaurant is also recommended. If the site cannot be booked online, I would choose the motorhome area 200 meters farther on.
In my opinion, it is a nice campsite. The positives are that it is very shaded, close to San Gimignano, the toilets are clean, and the on-site pizzeria makes excellent pizza. The downsides, in my opinion, are the unfriendly and almost hostile reception staff, noise and shouting from the adjacent football field, and the lack of water taps between the pitches.
Beautiful small site very close to San Gimignano. Bus tickets into town are available at reception. Pitches are rather small but completely adequate. Some are a little uneven, but leveling blocks are sufficient. Super-friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities in sufficient numbers. All services available. The on-site restaurant makes the best pizza ever!
Very quiet, located in the forest, with nice staff and a great location for San Gimignano. Excellent access on foot or by bus. Clean sanitary facilities! Two nights for two people including electricity: €80. Some parts are very steep, but there are also pitches for large motorhomes.
Great campsite for visiting San Gimignano. Unfortunately, the advertised excellent swimming pool had already closed on September 1, which was a shame. The football club trains quite loudly every evening directly opposite. Good value for money.
Fine for one night; we used it as a transit campsite. Sanitary facilities tidy. Swimming pool next to the campsite, requiring a short walk. We took the bus to San Gimignano. Very manageable.
Decent pitch. Swimming pool outside the campsite. Restaurant on site, but the pizzas are not great. Otherwise quiet and pleasant.
We stayed for one night and were given a pitch somewhat outside. We found it very pleasant there. We took the bus to San Gimignano, which worked perfectly. The showers are unfortunately a little old and quite small. Anyone wanting to swim must use the neighboring outdoor pool, which can be visited free of charge.
We came here again. The pitches are large enough, and we stayed in the outer section, which initially feels separate from the campsite. Everything is orderly, with electricity and water at the pitch. San Gimignano is reachable on foot in 25 minutes. The on-site restaurant is highly recommended. All in all, we would return to see the beautiful town.
The staff are very friendly. I think it is a good starting point for cycling to San Gimignano. The showers and toilets are clean, and there is a washing machine on site. About 400 meters from the campsite is a very good winery: Tenuta de Calcinaie.
Beautiful campsite with spacious pitches and very well-maintained sanitary facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful. The good bus connection to San Gimignano is particularly convenient. The only drawback is that the restaurant’s air-conditioning unit somewhat disturbs the otherwise pleasant quiet.
Help! I booked a pitch ten days in advance, only to find myself in a bend, with gravel everywhere—hello dust—facing about fifteen rubbish bins! We had no choice regarding the position because of the height of the trees. There are decent pitches, but I do not know the criteria for placement. Do not look for the swimming pool; it is not at the campsite.
