A picnic area at 780 m in the Thuringian Forest, with a view, benches, and a fixed grill or fire pit. The nearby road is regularly used into the night, so it is not always quiet. Shops and petrol stations are in town, but tree trunks currently prevent turning around.

Unfortunately, the site is right beside the road, which is regularly used until late at night. If we had not arrived in the dark and in very dense fog, we probably would have driven on. You are quite exposed there. A major advantage is the shelter, where you are protected from wind and rain. In good weather you can also enjoy a great view.
Parking on a meadow. A barbecue shelter with a bin and seating is right there. Great view when there is no fog! Excellent hiking opportunities. Many thanks to the municipality for making this possible.
Beautiful place with a great view. If you position yourself correctly, you can enjoy both sunset and sunrise perfectly. I stayed farther back on the meadow, with no mud problems. It was very quiet at night. There is a gas station nearby, but it closes in the evening.
Sufficient for one overnight stay. The road is right beside it, but it is still quiet in the evening.
