36627, San Roque do Monte
Been here?
This is a flat, quiet wild spot with sea and island views, shaded areas beneath pines and a sandy beach for swimming. It is suitable for overnight stays, with occasional walkers, fishermen and security patrols nearby. Recent comments report space for several vans, but also rubbish and an illegal dumping area behind the spot.

Great place. Quiet, shaded, and a beach for swimming. A few passers-by. There were about ten motorhomes or vans here that evening. However, behind the spot there is a dump, which is shameful for our traveling community. Take your rubbish with you and stop defecating everywhere!
Great spot. A security vehicle made several rounds during the evening. We slept peacefully. We were alone for the night, although there were many motorhomes in the parking area at the island entrance. Magnificent view. If some people get stuck in the sand, they would be better off staying in campsites rather than lowering the rating of this great spot.
A truly idyllic place. Wonderful sunset. The only thing that drove us crazy was a dog barking for half the night. Poor thing. Why doesn't anyone calm it down? It must have fallen asleep from exhaustion.
View of the island, the bay, and everything else. It is superb. And indeed, it is quiet and level. In the morning we were woken at dawn by professional shellfish gatherers collecting the many clams.
Beautiful place, unfortunately some rubbish is already accumulating. There is a rubbish bin on site, but it is partly ignored. What a shame...
Pleasant place, with incredible sea views and sunsets. There is plenty of space for a few vans or campers and it is very quiet.
Quiet, spacious, and with a spectacular sunset. Excellent for spending the night. Much better than anywhere else on the island.
We were looking for a campsite but found this marvel instead. Incredible place to spend the night.
Superb spot with a place under the pine trees, fine sandy beach, and it is possible to sleep there.
We spent the night right on the beach; it is true that there were already local people walking around early in the morning.
