Park-and-ride, passing train noise

Large gravel park-and-ride car park. Railway line behind it, but trains are infrequent and slow—we were there on a Sunday. About 2 km from the center and 3 km from the Counts’ Castle. When we visited, the barriers were raised, so access was free. The municipality could create a proper service area and separate cars from motorhomes.

A suitable place to visit Ghent, close to the center and with plenty of space. The parking lot itself is not very busy, but the railway tracks are right next to it, as is the road. There is considerable noise every time trains and trucks pass. It is quite noisy for sleeping. The barrier was up, so we could not pay; it appears to be broken.

Turned up at 8pm and plenty of motorhomes parked here, and loads of space available. Barrier was lifted so no charge either. Train noise is a little annoying, but all good for a free night's stop

Great for visiting Ghent! The only park-and-ride I could find that allows overnight stops. The barrier is not working at the moment, so parking is free. A 15-minute walk to the Muidebrug tram stop (T4). Get off at Lange Steenstraat for the centre/tourist information. Contactless payment on the tram is €3 per trip. The total journey takes less than 30 minutes! The car park felt secure. ANPR is being installed. Quiet overnight. About six other vans.

Perfect for one night, quiet, with other motorhomes. It says €2 per night, but we couldn't manage to pay; the barriers were open. It was Sunday, so perhaps that's why. We were 10 minutes from the centre by bike, using cycle paths, with plenty of secure places to park bicycles.

On 6/7/2026 we slept alone, very peacefully. Very large open area. Forty minutes' walk to the centre. The second night was fantastic, not a sound. Thanks for allowing us to stay here.

We did not stop because it is an industrial area that gives little confidence, with many motorhomes or vehicles belonging to travelling communities. Nevertheless, the area and car park could be interesting.

Great place to say when visiting Ghent. €2 for 24 hours. The park and ride is for bikes, which you can easily rent from the car park and it is a lovely ride into the city. I believe there may be a bus in walking distance also but we didn’t use it. We parked on the side furthest from the buildings, the only down side was the sound of the flag poles clanging near us!

We had a quiet night. There were about four motorhomes on a Monday evening. Some people went to the sports centre in the evening. Otherwise, there was plenty of space for the children to kick a ball. A pleasant cycle route through the park/woods leads to the city.

Convenient for visiting the city on foot or by bicycle, spacious and quiet for only €2! Very beautiful city!

Quiet car park at night. Ten minutes by bicycle from the magnificent city, which is lovely to visit and has a beautiful castle. To pay, go to the machine inside the large building at INGANG. €2 per night.

Great place to park for Ghent. Large, easy car park, very cheap. A 40-minute walk into Ghent. It is also right next to a bouldering gym where you can climb and shower.

Very large gravel car park. A great place to rest; there was no traffic or train at night and it was very quiet. We stayed for three nights. Cotton Cube is a multi-activity centre during the day. There was an event on Friday evening, but there was no outside noise, only cars leaving the car park late in the evening. Ten minutes by bicycle from the city, 35 minutes on foot. Recommended.

It is a 20–30 minute walk to town. There is a railway track next to it, but it is flat and, apart from looking a little run-down, it is fine. I would recommend it, but I would not class it as a park-and-ride.

Very large and leveled parking space. No services, but very quiet for the night. The price is very good, only €2/night. The reason for only 4 stars is the fact that it's a bit far from the centre and also located in an area that looks a bit derelict. However, there is a bus stop, 10 minutes away, that takes you right to the centre.

Spacious parking, perfect for spending the night for only €2 per 24 hours. Close to the centre by bicycle or bus, quiet, and with free Wi-Fi that, luckily, does not work well but helps with roaming.

Stayed here for 2 days/1 night for Christmas Market. Happily paid €4 at machine inside lobby as had quiet night and 30 hours parking. Easy 30 minute walk into downtown. Felt perfectly safe as car park level and well-lit at night. No-one hanging around. All quiet until after 7am when a few small commuter trains run nearby. Parked near other vehicles as car park only 10% full during day.

Ideal car park for visiting Ghent! No services. Fifteen minutes by bicycle from the city centre! Bus stop nearby! Fairly noisy in the evening and morning because the train passes nearby, but we slept safely and well. The only drawback was that the barrier was broken, allowing access, but the next day concrete blocks were installed, so we had to use the machine and press the lost-ticket button. The night cost us €10 instead of €2!

Good place near Ghent. We walked into the centre and I don't know whether there are buses nearby. Otherwise, excellent, quiet and monitored. Next to a climbing gym. Lots of space.
