Been here?
Scenic picnic viewpoint above Lake Thun with tables, benches and a barbecue/firewood area, popular with locals in the evening. Camping is not allowed, and no-vehicle-circulation signs are posted 22:00-07:00. The access road is narrow, winding and steep, with tight passing places, so it suits vans or small campers only — large motorhomes and trucks should avoid it. Parking is on a slope or in one small near-flat spot by the steps. The road can close entirely in winter.

An extraordinary view, four tables and benches for picnics, barbecue, wood and an axe on site. Thank you, Switzerland, superb place. The road is certainly narrow and winding, but it is absolutely worth the detour.
Super beautiful, not accessible to large motorhomes. Everything for barbecuing is here, and local people can also be found enjoying a lovely evening. Camping is not allowed. Please respect this place; it seems to be a refuge for locals to have an after-work beer.
There is a very large sign on arrival: camping, motorhomes and trucks prohibited from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Difficult access and impossible to sleep. Breathtaking view, nice for picnics. I think it is impossible to park with a large motorhome. Van/Trafic okay.
The place is indeed very nice for a picnic, but the road to get there is dangerous. There are ravines all along the mountain road and it is very narrow when passing. There is a small space to park a van at the foot of the stairs, but it is on the edge of the precipice. You can park on the other side of the road, but it is sloping.
Impossible to park. Too narrow.
Exceptional view. Great picnic spot with everything needed for a barbecue. A water source 200 m downhill along the road. Very narrow access road with some traffic. The space at the foot of the stairs is almost level for small utility vehicles or vans.
