Riverside, rough narrow access

A pretty riverside spot beside the Gave de Pau, with a bench, one parking place and a wide dirt track through nature. The river is very close and its strong current creates continuous water noise; heavy rain or flood risk should be avoided. Access is rough and narrow in places, especially for larger motorhomes, although recent trimming has improved clearance for wider vehicles. Litter has been reported, so the area should be left clean.

Track leading to location is a little rough in places but today it was easily passable. Someone has (very recently) trimmed back the bushes at the edge of the road so wider vehicles do not have to worry about scraping the vehicles sides. i dont know how quickly the bushes will grow back again. We parked well before the river because the sound of the water pump at the riverside was too disturbing.
Beautiful spot with some rubbish, as usual.
Great place, but unfortunately vanlifers who rent out vans were here on Friday, August 8, and left rubbish and defecated on the site. Many thanks for this lack of respect, and then we year-round nomads are the ones who get labeled dirty and unfriendly. From a full-time nomad.
Indeed, the road is far too narrow for a motorhome. Fine for a small truck, but even with a van you risk damaging the bodywork with all the brambles hanging over the road. I did not attempt it. It must have been nice, but it is inaccessible.
The road is quite rough after rain and not that wide even for a van. But the place is great, with access to the river below. Check the weather carefully: the river is very close, so avoid it if there is a risk of flooding!
We stayed for two days and enjoyed the peace and beautiful weather. You can clearly hear the river, even inside, but we found it relaxing. Few passersby, with only the occasional motocross rider during the day; we experienced little noise disturbance. You can park in a sheltered spot. Supermarket 10 minutes away by car. Emmaüs in Pau is 17 minutes away and recommended.
I agree with the other comments: a very beautiful spot with direct access to the river. However, it is not completely quiet because of a pump running 24/7, which may bother some people. Access is not too difficult, and you can park a long van and another small vehicle along the roadside. It is also in the middle of the forest, so remember to take all your rubbish with you.
