Mountain refuge, steep exposed access

This mountain spot lies at 1400m beside a refuge, surrounded by trees on a small plateau with a starry sky and solitude. Space is limited, the ground is sloping, there is no shade, and the refuge is probably open only on request. Access includes a poor, rain-eroded road section and a final 20 m steep, somewhat exposed stretch. A potable spring is a few meters from the refuge, and the Megali Tourla hike takes 6-8 hours.

I see no reason at all to stand here, instead of a little lower on the main square. Here at this refuge there is only little space, no shade, sloping surface, and the first part of the road (from the main square) is very bad because of rainwater washes away. The refuge was closed, and it looked like it hadn't even been open for a long time.
This is a really lovely place. I added drinking water because there is a potable spring a few meters from the refuge. Follow the red-and-white trail markers to find the spring. I stayed two nights and did the hike to the summit, which is truly worth it. This is my favorite natural spot in the region.
