Green Gate, LA23 1PQ, Windermere
Been here?
A small lay-by beside a quiet beck, with a waste bin and flat parking. It is generally peaceful overnight, but dog walkers arrive around 6am and the area is often busy by 8.30am. Overnight stays are not reliable, as visitors have been asked to move on at 19:00 and vans have been moved on by police.

Peaceful night, perfect place despite the rain. Three cars plus our van. Green St, farther on, offers a splendid view of the lake. The road is still closed toward Kirkstone Pass. In the morning, it fills up with hikers' cars.
Asked to move on at 19:00hrs
Quiet little spot. No one else here until about 6 a.m., when dog walkers started to arrive. It got busy by 8:30 a.m., so we moved on. The little stream was lovely. We would be happy to stay here again.
Police moving vans on from here. Not sure why?
Honestly so beautiful and quiet. A little brook running behind the van and just one other car with us. There's a tea rooms a 10 minute walk up from here too.
Very quiet spot. Highly recommended!
Very quiet. Nice and flat. Would stay again.
The Mortal Man Inn in Troutbeck is superb for ale, food, dog friendly and open fire - a 15 min walk away.
Lovely spot! Very quiet. Nice and flat. Would stay again. Very convenient for a number of walks. Close to the Queens Head pub which is amazing
