Paid mountain parking, narrow access

Paid parking at altitude, about €13 per night. The toilets, open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., are clean. Be careful: the first photo shows vans parked in a meadow. When we visited, that area was fenced off, so we stayed in the gravel car park. The access road is perfectly manageable for a van but somewhat narrow for a motorhome.✦Translating

Great place. I made it up easily in my old five-metre bus; there is water and a toilet facility, a restaurant, and a wonderful view a few metres away. The road is really difficult for passing vehicles, so allow time and expect to reverse. There is gravel and grass.✦Translating

Warning: if you want to drive up with a larger vehicle—it’s worth it for the fantastic panorama—be sure to pay attention to the time and avoid peak periods. Go up or down either early in the morning or late in the evening. Most of the last four kilometres are very winding with poor visibility. The road is mostly only wide enough for one vehicle. Reversing is almost unavoidable.✦Translating

Large parking area, practically empty and therefore very quiet at the end of February. The toilets are closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Campers may park all day. Beautiful views.✦Translating

Narrow road, easily accessible with a 6.5-metre Sprinter. Good starting point for a hike to Rigi Kulm. Very quiet at night, busier from the morning onwards. Very clean toilet. Almost CHF 20 for 24 hours.✦Translating

Great overnight stop. The cowbells are quite noisy and ring til quite late in the evening if you are sensitive to this type of noise. The toilets are excellent, a little muddy when I first used them, but were spotless in the morning. Parking costs now: 5chf for the first 3 hours (minimun charge), 1 chf for additional hours upto 8 hours, and then 0.5 chf for every additional hour after this.

The approach is manageable with a larger camper, but be prepared to reverse at bottlenecks. Otherwise, the place was perfect for a hike to Rigi and barely visited at night. There was quite a lot going on during the day, especially on Saturday. Unfortunately, the parking is really expensive; we paid almost €30 for 42 hours. Very beautiful place to spend the night, with wonderful views of the mountains. It was also very easy to reach with my Crafter, which is 6.4 metres long. The toilet is very clean!✦Translating

Great overnight stop. The approach is via narrow, steep switchbacks, but the road is perfectly asphalted all the way to the site. No problem with our VW bus. I would advise against it for vehicles over seven metres. Water, toilets (6 a.m.–10 p.m.) and rubbish bins are available. Costs as stated.✦Translating

We spent a quiet night here at the beginning of October and were able to set off early for a hike. An inexpensive night by Swiss standards. Plenty of space, clean toilets. Nothing to complain about!✦Translating

Great place. Large grassy area with a magnificent view of Mount Rigi and a hiking trail starting directly here. The spaces are indeed not level, so bring levelling blocks. Few vans—we were six on 15 August. Accessible via a fairly narrow road, but manageable in a van or motorhome; you sometimes have to keep very close to the edge. Very quiet, although the cowbells are nearby, but not disturbing.✦Translating
