1B Am Thümmlitzsee, 04668, Grimma
Been here?
A small, quiet campsite directly on the Thümmlitzsee, with a peaceful setting and shaded pitches. The sanitary and disposal facilities are clean, but showers are open only from 7 to 12 and 17-22 Uhr, and the lakeside pitches may be restricted for shorter stays. The site has a restaurant and is a good base for cycling along the Mulde, although the gastronomy is considered expensive.

First, we parked the motorhome in wonderful shade at 38°C. But the showers have very unusual opening hours, from 7 to 12 and 17 to 22. Since the lake was very muddy and, due to the very high temperatures, extremely murky—which the operator of course cannot be blamed for—we could not shower during the closing hours. At €32 per day for two people and a motorhome, we expected more.
It was clean and the location by the lake is beautiful. However, you are not allowed to park by the lake unless you stay long enough. Everyone else has to park on a meadow, which is okay. The electrical boxes were locked. It would be useful to know that on arrival. Showers are closed from 10 p.m. In general, there are many signs prohibiting things.
The site is very beautiful and peacefully located, but the restaurant is very inflexible. We were disappointed several times. What a shame.
We spent two relaxing days at this beautiful, peaceful site. A good starting point for a bike ride along the Mulde.
We can only agree with all the five-star reviews here. A site with such culinary highlights, great operators, and an all-round carefree package is a showcase for our Mulde Valley. Keep it up!
Small but lovely, and above all quiet, campsite with friendly operators. We will definitely come back!
Thank you for a well-cared-for weekend with a culinary highlight. It is wonderful what you have lovingly made from the buildings and site from the 1970s. If the lakeside path in the northern section were cleared of vegetation, it would be perfect. Perhaps a phone call to the right person might help. We will definitely see each other again...
The campsite is geared more toward permanent campers. Nevertheless, everything is clean, friendly, and nicely located.
A super beautiful site where children are still allowed to be children. Anyone who prefers some peace and quiet will be well served in the rear section. We chose the view over the water, and the kids did not bother us. The sanitary facilities are excellent and the operators' service leaves nothing to be desired. We were here over Pentecost and even had live music from SB1.
A very nice small campsite. Friendly operators. The sanitary and waste-disposal facilities are okay, but the overnight price—about €60 for a motorhome, two nights, and two people—is somewhat high. The upscale restaurant on site is beautifully located. There are lovely cycling and walking routes around the lake and along the Freiberg Mulde.
A relatively small site for short-term campers; permanent campers have their own area. Sanitary facilities are clean and modernized. The restaurant is great but not exactly cheap; the food is tasty, though. The playground being in the middle of the site is inconvenient. One star deducted also for the continuous bass-heavy music from an event at the restaurant until well after 10 p.m.
Beautiful campsite. We got the best spot on the campsite, on the grass with a view of the lake! The friendliest welcome! The sanitary facilities are clean and tidy. A super beautiful garden with lots of benches. This campsite is very well organized. We stayed for one night. Highly recommended!
Nice and peaceful nature campsite. Beautiful lake that you can walk around. Fine sanitary facilities and a nice kiosk where you can get ice cream and drinks. We were there on July 17, and unfortunately the restaurant was still closed. Very friendly welcome on arrival, with an extensive tour of the site.
