This small gravel parking area lies beside a lake in a wooded nature area, with shade, a mostly level surface and attractive walking surroundings. Standing directly at the lake is prohibited because of nature protection, with a possible 600 € fine; the opposite parking area allows about 4 PKW. There are no facilities, and traffic on the nearby road can be frequent.

A wonderfully quiet place. However, parking by the lake is not permitted. We were very kindly—really—pointed out that if the forestry office checks or someone reports us, the fine is €600 because it is a nature reserve. See also the photo from 2023. I can't say what the situation is in the nearby car park.
A lot of cars passing by, otherwise a nice spot for a night
Small walking car park in a lake area near the village. Mostly shaded, more or less level, gravel, suitable only for really small campers. The entrance to the car park is somewhat hidden among the trees opposite the road in the nature reserve, which you are not allowed to drive on. No facilities. These are the correct coordinates: N 051° 34.951' E 010° 36.466'. Unfortunately, there is quite a lot of traffic on the road, including at night. Be sure to visit the monastery in Walkenried; it is truly beautiful. There is a large car park there (N 051° 34.916' E 010° 37.231'), but overnight stays are not permitted. A visit to the model railway garden near the overnight spot is also worthwhile (N 051° 35.076' E 010° 36.648').
The view is beautiful and it is also wonderful for walking. However, driving there is prohibited because it is a nature reserve. Directly opposite the spot, however, there is another car park with accommodation space for about four cars.
