Very clean campsite and facilities, friendly welcome, town very close on foot, swimming pool, canoeing, walks and a chain ferry. I gave only four stars because I asked for an extra night and was made to change pitches, and the next day the pitch was still vacant.
Excellent, very clean campsite, including the facilities, with a very pleasant welcome. Riverside location with canoe and electric boat rentals, a free heated swimming pool, mini-golf, and a riverside restaurant across the chain ferry. Various food trucks every day in high season, bread service, and shops close by in a beautiful village. I could give it a sixth star if there were toilet paper in the bathrooms.
Well-maintained campsite with a pool beside a charming village with shops. A very friendly couple will give you good advice. Take the chain ferry across the Sarthe to reach the village; it is very original. Large pitches. Fishing. Very clean facilities.
Campsite with spacious pitches, clean sanitary facilities and the use of outdoor pool. All for €26 inc elec. A "DIY" chain ferry crosses the river and leads to a medieval town (10 mins walk). It passes a charming bar on the riverbank with a lovely garden.
Excellent municipal campsite with grassy pitches separated by hedges. Very reasonable prices. The facilities are clean and spacious. Great welcome. Ten minutes on foot from the town centre.
Campsite beside the Sarthe, entirely grassy, flat and well maintained. The facilities are not new but are well designed and very clean, cleaned several times a day. Very friendly welcome and good advice. Small convenience shop. The village is just a short walk away via the footbridge or chain ferry. Stroll through the streets with their beautiful houses. One van and two people: €22 per night, with electricity mandatory.
Very nice campsite close to the upper town on foot, near a hiking trail, well equipped, with very clean facilities and a great welcome.
Very friendly welcome, large pitch, riverside location, clean facilities and showers, quiet, pleasant village, small market on Wednesday and large market on Saturday. Nice walks and visits on foot or by bicycle.
Very nice campsite, nothing to complain about. We planned to stay for two nights but stayed four. Do not hesitate to visit the Headdress Museum (€3), with a lovely collection of around 200 headdresses. Quiet surroundings and a very nice riverside restaurant. The price was a little higher than previously reported, but still reasonable.
Very friendly welcome! If you go to the riverside restaurant opposite, beware that the chain ferry closes at 8 p.m. On foot, you have to walk around, which takes about 20 minutes.
In the countryside beside the Sarthe, very pleasant and peaceful, waking to birdsong. Clean facilities, village centre 10 minutes on foot, with a market on Saturday morning. Many thanks to the very kind campsite managers, who gave us good advice about walks and local shops. We will return.
Beautifully situated campsite by the river. Unfortunately, it does not close on October 30 but on September 15. So it is closed!
Campsite near the village. Unfortunately, the facilities are deteriorating, with mould and toilet paper thrown onto the walls by some campers. The wellness area with jacuzzi and sauna is very good and inexpensive. For more peace and quiet, avoid pitches near the chain ferry.
Nice campsite near the Sarthe. The night was very quiet. The facilities are not cleaned every day. The swimming pool at the campsite entrance is free for campers. Fresnay-sur-Sarthe is classified as a Small City of Character. Reception is closed from noon to 4 p.m. The campsite Wi-Fi is very poor.
What a little gem of a site. Beautiful setting next to a slow moving river and surrounded by trees. Kids have access to the pool and activities room. Old Town a short walk away. Shame we're just passing through.
Very beautiful, spacious pitches, some beside the Sarthe. Municipal swimming pool accessible to campers. ACSI prices are not applied this year; see you next year! Very friendly welcome, late arrival possible, and a pre-registration terminal is being installed.
Very nice, well-equipped campsite beside the Sarthe. There is no accessible swimming pool, except for a fee. The facilities are very dirty, unfortunately.
Friendly welcome, good and well-marked pitch. More than €20 per night, with no choice about whether to take electricity.
