Been here?
Vast free meadow with multiple parking spots below Gedres ski resort. Marmots, cows, and sheep graze freely. Windy, cold, with no mobile network. Some spots unsuitable for large campers. Spectacular views; expect crowds in August. Electrosensitive visitors should note a nearby electrical pylon.

Great spot. Be aware that there is no Free mobile network.Translating
Perhaps the best spot we have found in summer. Some areas are inaccessible to motorhomes, so be careful. Otherwise, there are plenty of places to park in nature.Translating
Perfect for us; we went down towards the chairlifts for more peace and quiet. Perfect for observing nature.Translating
Beautiful and reasonably level place. We had a wonderful view. The nearby road is certainly not disruptive!Translating
Level parking on the grass, close to the road and easy to reach. When we were there, cows were grazing, so there were also cow pats. Therefore, we could not enjoy the outdoor area very much; otherwise it would have been even nicer.Translating
Magnificent, guaranteed disconnection.Translating
Many people during August, but there are plenty of spaces to accommodate everyone. The cows come to say good evening. Very beautiful place.Translating
Fantastic place to stay. Very quiet. Cows and sheep keep you company.Translating
Indeed, plenty of space where everyone can settle as they wish, either on flat ground alongside the road or a little farther down. Sheep, cows, vultures and marmots. Great! However, you have to overlook the ski lifts in the landscape and the cold. In general, there are several parking possibilities along this road.Translating
Too close to the cows' pen for my taste.Translating
Great spot with a beautiful unobstructed view. Cool and windy. Beware of the large electrical pylon nearby, especially if you are sensitive to electromagnetic fields.Translating
Very windy, but a superb view and a peaceful spot for this September!Translating
Magical place sheltered from the wind. There must have been about fifteen vans, but the place is so vast that we did not disturb one another at all! Waking up in the middle of the pastures—bliss!Translating
Easy access, level ground, but very crowded. It is possible to find a pitch higher up; otherwise, arrive early and park above the gondola near the trees. A very peaceful awakening with cows, sheep and marmots.Translating
Fantastic—superb views, cows and marmots, incredible.Translating
No services, but incredible views and a fantastic location, with plenty of space, though not necessarily level, and lots of sun. In the middle of cows, sheep and marmots! Very quiet.Translating
Spectacular place for spending the night, peaceful and with impressive views. Surrounded by cows and sheep. A paradise.Translating
Spot with an incredible view. Note that parking is regulated along the road, especially after Gavarnie station. Please respect this!Translating
Huge open area with a wonderful panorama. Excellent and quiet location, also convenient for hikes.Translating
Great for those who love nature. A quiet and restful night apart from the animals' bells ;-). Waste disposal and fresh water are available 4 km farther down. For those who need to stay connected, Orange 4G works, but Bouygues and Free do not. Enjoy.Translating
Fantastic! Incredible place, magnificent views of the mountains, with marmots and cows as neighbors. Do not hesitate to go down to the river and chairlift level. You will wake up surrounded by cows.
Brutal place to sleep. We wanted to do several routes that started there, so it was perfect. We slept there for 2 nights, an idyllic place.
Thank you for this information. Very pleasant place among the cows, extremely spacious; even with several of us, we did not get in each other's way.
Perfect place for a perfect night. Peace and beautiful scenery guaranteed. The marmots will entertain you in the evenings because there is no mobile network here.
