Camping on the dike

Wow, right by the sea! I usually don't like staying at campsites, but this one is really lovely. There is only one row, so there are only two neighbors. Spacious pitch, clean sanitary facilities and a friendly welcome. Be careful: cash only.

€63 for three people and three dogs. Children are counted as full persons. No electricity. Sanitary facilities are clean, but the shower token starts counting down immediately, even when the water is off. No shop. Dogs are allowed at the water. Nice campsite, but far too expensive.

Nice operators, very good location. Unfortunately, card payments are not possible, so only four stars. The nearest ATM is in Petersdorf, 7 km away.

Very nice location directly behind the dike. Friendly reception and very dog-friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. The sanitary facilities are relatively new and clean. We were passing through and stayed only one night. Three people in a van and three dogs cost €55. Given the sensational location, we thought that was fair.

You are right at the front behind the dike, very close to the Baltic Sea. Excellent for walking the dog directly from the site or starting a bike ride. However, dogs cost an extra €5 per day, with no facilities or services provided for them. This seems disproportionate, as it creates no extra work for the operator. The pitch costs €16 per day, electricity €4.50 per day, and €9 per person per day. One sanitary building has been renovated; another is very old and in need of refurbishment. Overall, some parts of the site need more maintenance—the fence is loose and the playground is run-down. The site is very elongated, so depending on your pitch, the walk to the sanitary facilities can be very long. CASH ONLY. The barrier to the site is closed during the lunch break from 1 to 3 p.m. I can understand closing it at night from 10 p.m., but we did not know about the midday closing times, so we could only set off on our trip to Burg, the island capital, with a 1.5-hour delay. We will not return; we did not like it.

Beautiful, quiet location. Pitches in the front row by the dike. Slightly expensive for what is offered (€16 pitch, €9 per adult, €4.50 electricity, €1 shower). You can walk the dog wonderfully along the dike, but there are otherwise no services for dogs despite the €5 fee. Sanitary facilities are okay; we could not find any mirrors or electrical outlets. Barrier open from 8 a.m.

Nice and quiet, directly by the sea. We called one hour before arrival at 10 a.m. and immediately got a spot. Two people, dog, van and small trailer, three shower tokens, no electricity: €46 per night. More expensive than the average campsite, but you have peace and quiet.

Small, family-run campsite, very cozy and dog-friendly. You look out onto greenery. It may be somewhat shady in summer, but otherwise absolutely recommended. The sanitary facilities are great! Many thanks—we'd gladly come back!

Very good for campers who can do without entertainment and fuss. Not as overwhelmingly large as the neighboring sites. Some pitches have sea views, and the sanitary area is just as it should be.

Located directly by the dike with direct access to the beach. There is only one row of pitches, which makes the whole place very family-like. The brand-new sanitary facilities deserve special mention—overall, an absolute recommendation.

It is a strange area with cars constantly coming and going and people behaving oddly. We felt uncomfortable and unsafe the whole time. There is also practically no shade.

15 minutes from town. Lots of space. Quiet at night. We made sure everything was hidden and locked away. We stayed one night.

No services, but level ground. The spaces reserved for buses—gendarmerie officers issue fines there.

Adequate parking near the center. The area next to the buffet is occupied by fairground workers. We were lucky and found a parking space. Four other motorhomes nearby.

Very good place to spend the night peacefully, with plenty of parking. In the morning the police came because some spaces are reserved for buses, but they kindly told us to move. Fifteen minutes' walk from the center.
