Daytime parking, overnight prohibited

Ideal as a starting point for hikes. The parking area is sloped, and motorhomes are prohibited from parking between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. There is nowhere in Mont-Dore to stay overnight, which is a shame. The shopkeepers are welcoming.

Very steep daytime parking. The village is nearby, but beware of the significant incline on the way back to the motorhome, especially for anyone with mobility issues. I will not return to this village; according to the town hall, motorhome users are not welcome. The shopkeepers are very welcoming. All other parking areas prohibit motorhomes, but strangely this one is not signposted by the town hall.

Well-located parking for visiting the town. You just have to be patient to find a space.

Adequate parking, but nothing special, for visiting the town. Very steep. There is no choice if you want to go elsewhere; if you do not pay, you get nothing, because the town is hostile to motorhome users and wants to charge for everything—parking, overnight stays, fines, and so on. Thanks, Mont-Dore; being Auvergnat, this disgusts me.

This parking area is perfect for starting the hiking route and nothing else. Its biggest advantage is that it is free.

It works for visiting the town and hiking, but it is the only parking area, or almost the only one, accessible to motorhomes—and even then with an unbelievable slope! You can clearly sense the town's anti-motorhome policy. Other sites in the Sancy area are much more welcoming!
