Residential parking, height restriction

The setting is lovely! Quiet! The town is nearby. The only downside is that the toilets are unavailable.

we stayed for 1 night. lovely 30 min walk along the seafront to town. the 30c toilet was free when we were there. would def return to Gijon and this carpark. though there was parking nearer town when we walked down so may investigate them next time...

We spent 4 days here. Very quiet and no problems, plenty of space, but height is limited to 2.20 m.

Perfect place to spend the night. The Pantai restaurant is 2 minutes away by bike and delicious! The town centre is 15 minutes away by bike. Highly recommended!

Parking in the middle of town, not very pleasant for sleeping in a van in full view. The toilets were closed when we were there. The parking area is a 45-minute walk from the centre, including bars, shops and the historic centre. The beaches and town are lovely, but the parking area is really not pleasant for staying overnight. We were woken by the brush cutter and the town cleaning staff.

Quite large and quiet parking area. The dog beach next door is great in the middle of summer. There is also a very large green area and a promenade to central Gijón along the sea.

Parking very close to the centre on foot. We spent two nights without any problems. There were more vans, motorhomes and cars staying overnight. There is a public toilet next door. We left the van here and walked into the centre, so the location was excellent.

Great. There were more cars, vans and motorhomes. It is very quiet and there is a park right next door, also suitable for dogs. We slept peacefully and felt safe. It is in a good residential area, so people walk around there. We were very comfortable; although there was a streetlamp, we barely noticed it while sleeping, and it actually made leaving the vehicle at night feel safer.

Very quiet for a town parking area! Next to El Rinconin Park; just follow the pier to reach the town centre, a very pleasant walk. Beware, there is a height barrier at the entrance, so it is suitable for cars and vans.

This place is fantastic. The dog beach is just a step away. The surrounding park is an area where dogs can run off-leash, approved by the town hall. There are bins and paid toilets. The exit has no 2.2 m height barrier, so several tall vans were parked there.

Perfect place to spend the night. The beach promenade is beautiful, especially at sunset. Walking to the far end of the promenade takes 40 minutes. There is a cycle lane. Next to the parking area is a huge lawn for sunbathing, with trees if you want shade. The beach directly below is for dogs, although at high tide the water covers it completely. There is a fountain and a toilet.

Close to central Gijón on foot, about 15 minutes. The sink in the bathroom was not working. There are quite a few parking spaces, and other free parking areas farther down. You can hear the traffic quite clearly.

Very quiet place. We noticed changes since our last visit. There is now a height barrier and caravans are prohibited; vans are still allowed. The public toilets worked on the first day but not the second.

Great, quiet, shady parking area with groves. Located next to a very beautiful and peaceful park. There are toilets open from 6:00 to 24:00 for €0.30.

Well-maintained, paved parking area above the park with waste disposal and clean public toilets (€0.30). We liked it because it is quiet and level. The proximity to the town and promenade is excellent. We had bicycles with us. Perfect for 1–2 nights. Gijón is worth seeing!

A neat, quiet parking area with plenty of space between the campers because it was not busy. Ideal for low campers. The hedge provides shelter from the wind. The beach and pleasant places to eat are a short distance away. Perfect for a relaxing overnight stay! We could not find any toilets, though there were some by the stairs to the beach.

Height barrier, only cars and small vans. Couples beware, because years ago there was a pervert who used to wander around there.

We spent one night in this very well-located parking area, allowing us to visit the town, shop in the boutiques and eat a good paella. Very quiet night. As always, we respected the place: we took our rubbish with us and did not put out a table or chairs, because we are not at a campsite.

Forbidden for motorhomes due to the height barrier. This town could make an effort to welcome us with a service area or dedicated parking. So we continued on without visiting this town, which is so unwelcoming to motorhomes!

A perfect place to spend a night and visit Gijón. Unfortunately, they have installed a 2.2 m height barrier, so access is no longer possible. I suppose this was partly motivated by the abuse and neglect caused by some users of these places. Instead of banning motorhomes, the town hall could regulate and provide some areas for them. It is becoming increasingly difficult to visit cities and beaches by motorhome.

Beautiful place! If you have a dog, even better. Park and beach area. Water fountain. Close enough to walk into town.

Warning! We did not feel safe and drove straight on. As soon as we arrived in the parking area, a man approached us in a very suspicious manner. A second person walked past our camper several times and watched us. Otherwise it is a lovely parking area, though we were also a little unsettled by the people who live there permanently.

ok place to park, the bathroom like all except one in Gijón spits coins back out at you so unless you have a citizen card do not get your hopes up for using the bathroom

We had not visited since before summer. It must have been spectacular for them to end up closing the place. Many thanks to everyone who made this possible. One fewer place in Asturias, and I have lost count of how many now.

The place is still the same, but the parking spaces have been painted smaller for cars and vans. A 2.2 m height-limit bar has been installed at the entrance. You can enter through the exit area, but I suppose they will come by to check.

Now that, unfortunately, the motorhome spaces have been removed, the entire parking area is available for cars and vans, next to a beautiful park and the seafront promenade, with a dog area and dog beach. Ideal for surfing, with a cycle lane to the centre, a bus stop and complete tranquillity. There are public toilets and fountains in the park, next to the trendy beach bar. Fantastic for spending a few days.

Motorhomes are permanently forbidden in Rinconin Park because of how well you take care of things. Keep it up and we will end up crammed into pens because people do not look after places or follow cleaning rules. This summer it looked like a settlement: motorhomes closed up for months, others not moving for weeks. There you have it, and it is deserved.

The spaces reserved for motorhomes become no-parking areas from 6 to 10 November 2023.

Perfect for visiting the old town, and quiet. There is a park and beach nearby. Nothing like the other parking areas, which are either noisy or dirty, although at least they exist!

Easy access. Very close to the beach and gardens. Spacious parking spaces. Quiet at night; during the morning people walk through the nearby park, but it is still fairly quiet. We spent one night there. Recommended.

Parking area completely full, with a huge number of motorhomes and cars, probably because it is Saturday. Once parked, I think it would be very difficult to get out because cars park randomly all around it.

New layout for motorhomes. More practical if you have bicycles or a motorcycle, but fewer spaces. Very good for visiting, near the cycle path. Still very busy this month; it was very difficult to find a space, but after waiting an hour, one became available. Thank you to the municipality.

Shameful. We tried to get there but it was impossible. Everything was full of badly parked cars in the corners. Two cars could not even pass each other to leave, so imagine how we managed. Incredible. There was also nowhere to park the motorhome; some had makeshift camps that looked like they had been there for a month. We parked in the lot beside the stadium, next to other motorhomes.

Overnight stays are permitted. The municipal police came and said that personal belongings must be kept inside the vehicle, meaning no camping. Motorhomes have room to park. We found a spot in a narrower area. Beach and dog area nearby. Public toilet next door, costing €0.30, but it was not working when we were there.

We spent one night in the van and do not recommend it. At night, people were preparing to drink in their cars, and a couple of cars had people living inside them. There was noise in the parking area from people returning after going out. The motorhome area was full, so we had to park in the car area and could not put anything outside.
