Hexham Racecourse Campsite

Excellent campsite . 2 mile outside of Hexham up a steep hill .nice walk to the town but wouldn't want to walk back up. good value for money. toilets and showers are amongst the best we have seen . wardens very friendly. most vans are using blocks as all the pitches slope .He let me park on the gravel next to the shower block /first ehu. that's nice and flat. laundry facilities look good .

Well equipped site with amazing views. The disabled facilities are excellent with an accessible toilet and shower. Also good facilities for the non disabled plus washing up and laundry. Made very welcome by the warden. Thanks

A unique experience spending the night at the racecourse. Superb views of the surrounding landscape. Apart from that, the welcome was somewhat brusque, but the sanitary facilities were clean and functional, the area was flat, and the electrical hookup was far away. Good for one night. £25.

Fantastic views..toilet/showers immaculate...Tip- use the A69 0r A68 as far as you can some of the B roads are long and very narrow also you'll need a decent length hook up if required

Very friendly welcome. We arrived after office hours and were assigned a pitch by phone. We paid the next morning upon departure. The sanitary facilities are very clean and well maintained. The site is very quiet, with panoramic views over the surrounding area. Disadvantages: The pitches are quite uneven (grass areas). Grey-water disposal is supposed to be done in the landscape on a gravel area.

Friendly welcome. Shown to pitch with good view. Very quiet. A windy spot. But it’s stunning views. Ablutions were ok but we’ve had cleaner for £25 per night. I’d echo the point about making sure you have a long electric cable. There is chemical disposal. Tap at the main building. No campervan service point. We were advised to offload grey water in the gravelled area just outside the campsite.

Beautifully located. Close to the town by bicycle. Quick downhill ride, difficult uphill. Super clean. Very large showers. Quiet. Wonderful.

Fantastic open views, very friendly and helpful staff, immaculate bathrooms, reliable WiFi and good TV reception. Definitely worth GBP20 with electric. We definitely will be back!

Stayed last night, £20 with electricity. The toilet and shower block look new. The lady at reception was very helpful. The views are great. Some noise until about 11, then it was very quiet. Will stop again if in the area.

The level pitches are in demand. It is advisable to carry at least one leveling board. There is always a wind-protected side next to the vehicle. It is worth booking an extra day when a horse race takes place, as the pitches offer a good view of the track.

This site is very windy, even in the summer. Beautiful views over the racecourse but very exposed spot. Make sure you have a 25 meter hook up cable (as your pitch can be quite far from the electric point). Ablutions we’re clean enough but for £20, you would be better finding a wild spot for free.

Stayed for 2 nights mid week. Called & booked ahead & paid in full in advance. Very friendly service. Beautiful views over racecourse & countryside beyond. Great laundry facilities with £1 tokens for washing machine & tumble dryer. Immaculate washrooms with showers & toilets. Definitely worth £20 a night.

Ideal place for a stopover on the way to Edinburgh. The owner is helpful and friendly. The £20 price is perfectly justified by the facilities (impeccable sanitary facilities, laundry, waste disposal, and fresh-water filling...). We recommend it!
