DG3, Thornhill
Been here?
A small, quiet clearing car park suitable for a night in transit, with space for about 3 vans. The access road is narrow and has potholes, and the ground can be dark and muddy. Thornhill is nearby, with walks and cycling routes in the surrounding area.

Dark and muddy. (Gloomy? :)) But quiet in a small clearing. Narrow access road with potholes. Good for one night in transit.
Great spot to stop for a night. Quiet, no cars passed us all night. Some nice morning walks in the area too. And the town of Thornhill is close by.
I lived nearby and know the exact stop.. It is safe and the best place for walks and bike rides. You can cycle for miles and lots of little hamlets around. Slightly further down the road heading for cample there is a trail path with a river etc. We used to cycle for hrs around this area, hardly any cars on the road and their is a ruin of Moreton castle that you can get to from here
Beautifully secluded spot, but very dark and it made us uncomfortable, so we drove on.
Stayed here last night. Great little off road carpark surrounded by trees. Very quiet, and peaceful. if you walk out the carpark and turn right slightly up the road, there is a woodland walk (crichope linn) , with a hidden rock cave. would stop here again.
