Been here?
This private parking area is a useful overnight base for hiking at the Schrammsteine, with a stream, forest surroundings and a restaurant and guesthouse nearby. Tourist traffic makes the area busy during the day, but nights are usually very quiet. There are few level spaces, so arriving early or late improves the chance of finding one. Internet reception may be weak, and the adjacent road becomes busier in the evening and early morning.

Very quiet spot with trailheads for hikes. Internet reception was barely available. Few parking spaces, so you either need luck or should arrive early or in the evening.
One of the few places where overnight stays are not prohibited. Full during the day from around 10 a.m., then it empties again in the evening from around 5 p.m. There are not many level spaces, but there are some. We stayed with four other campers without any problems. If you want to see the Schrammsteine the next day, there is no better option.
The road was not closed at all. We also found a level parking space, which was the biggest challenge. Great for one night, and you can start hiking directly from here.
I could not find a level spot, but since I sleep across the vehicle, it was not a major problem. Super quiet at night; in the evening and from early morning, cars arrive with hikers.
A little disappointed because the road is still busy in the evening and early in the morning.
Very peaceful at night! I slept well here in my VW Bulli.
Update: The construction site is still there, but traffic lights regulate it. Access is no problem. Since all parking lots in the region display information prohibiting overnight stays with campers or tents, but this site does not, overnight stays seem to be tolerated. However, there is currently no reasonably level spot.
Not accessible from below by motorhome, bus or camper because of construction work. A truck came toward us halfway up, and passing it was a matter of centimeters. Absolutely not recommended, as there is construction in Ostrau.
Perfectly fine for one night. No facilities, of course. The ground is partly uneven, so leveling wedges may be useful depending on the space. Relatively little traffic, perhaps because of the bridge holiday. Some neighbors were a little loud in the morning, but the site cannot be blamed for that.
Good place for overnight parking. There is a place to walk among magnificent sandstone cliffs. In summer it is most likely full. In March it is almost always empty. We spent a quiet, calm night here.
We drove on because the parking lot was closed and filled with stacked wood.
Unfortunately, the road is busy until late in the evening. One driver felt compelled to test his horn repeatedly. The same happened early in the morning. We confirm: the horn works. But behavior within our own group also caused a deduction: someone emptied their toilet in the bushes. The area smelled accordingly. It is a shame that not everyone treats such a treasure respectfully.
