This is a daytime car park for visiting the Pech Merle caves, with some shade available when it is not busy. Overnight parking is prohibited, and an agent checks the area from 20h. Toilets are available in the museum, and the parking provides direct access to the cave visit.

It is possible to park in the shade when it is not too crowded. A sign at the entrance to the car park states that overnight parking is prohibited (see photo). We asked at reception and were told it is because we are in the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park. Otherwise, a very interesting visit.
Prehistoric site; overnight stays are prohibited. A municipal officer issues tickets from 8 p.m. He passes three times between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. The same applies opposite the bakery and at P1 of Pech Merle and in the village centre.
Great for parking to visit the cave. The cave is really worth visiting. Overnight stays are not allowed.
P2 parking directly for visiting the cave. Nothing more.

The site is prohibited from 15 June to 15 September. A municipal employee will direct you to the area in the village center. €6 per night, for a maximum of 3 nights.

Very quiet after the last cave visitors leave. The cave tour is very interesting. P1 has quite a lot of shade and P2 above is sunnier. We spent a very restful night. The cave site's toilets are accessible and nearby. I highly recommend it.
Perfect if visiting the Pech Merle caves the next day, because at 10 a.m. P1 was full and parking a motorhome at P2 may be difficult if other vehicles are already there. Super-quiet night. The museum restaurant is highly recommended, with delicious food and very friendly staff. And the visit to Pech Merle... wonderful!
Perfect night and convenient for visiting the beautiful caves.
Peaceful from 7 p.m. onward, with the cicadas and the quiet. We were alone on the site for a visit the next morning.
Very pleasant night at P2. There is an easy 3.5 km route starting from the car park (you have to cross the equestrian farm). Beautiful limestone plateau scenery. From the site, a 700 m path leads to Cabrerets. Very beautiful views of the village and a lovely bakery. This complements the visit to the cave (paid) and the museum, which has free admission.
