Citadel-view site, roadside noise

Stayed here overnight. All facilities are available. Nice and clean. We were not bothered by the train. You can walk straight into the town. We had a delicious meal at the Vietnamese restaurant—highly recommended. Frans and Marita✦Translating

The site is located between a very busy road and the railway line. Of course, there is no notice board displaying the price—that would be asking too much.✦Translating

To enter, you have to spend at least €15: €5 for a card that remains active for life, plus €10 credit for one day. We arrived at 11:30 p.m., and at 6:30 a.m. we tried to leave, but the barrier would not open. After spending more than 20 minutes trying to get out, I topped up another €10 and finally the barrier opened. So now there are €20 on the card. the machine says to try my debit card again and again. I finally get in. I later check my bank and find I have been charged 8 times. I ring the car park company and they say I have paid nothing. the next morning I cannot leave and have to pay again. so nearly 150e for one night. I will be able to get bank to challenge this but it's not good

Just a parking area, on asphalt. No bins, wedged between the road and railway line, with 2.5 m between motorhomes. €16.32 anyway, getting more and more expensive. CCP, flee.✦Translating

Very mediocre parking area, expensive for what it is. Paying for this kind of site when there are much better options nearby is ridiculous. It was also recently renovated, apparently to the great delight of elected officials. Welcome to the van-life era, where we are no longer free and are packed together, with surcharges on top. Well located. View of the citadel. Close to the town center and 100 m from a bakery. SNCF station next door. Quiet even though the parking area is between the railway line and the road (very few trains, none at night). We slept well there for two nights. The only issue is that there is no household-waste container, only recycling bins in the square above.✦Translating

Just three months ago I passed through and spent a night here, and everything was free. Today I was unfortunately surprised that, despite some empty spaces, the area was shown as full. Unlike the other red area, where we arrived at 9 p.m., the downhill entrance was completely icy and the camper could not get through. We diverted here: sheltered, warm, spacious, close to the town, and above all, since it was not working, free. Only one train passed at 6:30 a.m., and it caused no problem. Highly recommended. The only place where we could park to visit the town. There was no space left in the designated bays because they were already occupied. We parked behind them, like others did. We paid the €7 even though we stayed only three hours. It is still cheaper than a possible fine!

Except for 3 bays along the fence line. the rest are far too close to each other for comfort (3*). Electricity is expensive at €5.20 for 4 hours and multiples thereof. 10 min walk into the town which is well worth a visit. The views from the Citadelle are spectacular and worth the effort. Some train noise until late and they start early (06:00) but I’m a retired railwayman so no problems

OK for an overnight stop with easy access to town. Proximity to railway not a concern. It was actually free when we stayed

What a terrible site—cramped and noisy, all pitches overcrowded, just awful. We got the last pitch, and even the electricity did not work. The fortress is farther away. One night and we quickly left.

It has the merit of existing. Very noisy parking area.
