Been here?
This quiet, idyllic campsite in the valley behind Loen has terraced meadow pitches, mountain and river views, and cabins. It offers two very clean new wash houses, a kitchen, working WiFi and friendly, helpful service, with bread available. Nearby activities include kayaking, fishing, hiking and cycling, and the river can be heard from the pitches. The ACSI price is 27 €, including shower and electricity, although the 3 showers and 3 toilets can cause queues.

A beautiful, well-maintained, ideally located campsite—perfect for nature activities. The sanitary facilities and kitchen are exceptionally clean. The staff are super friendly, very helpful, and take excellent care of the site. Absolutely recommended!
Such a beautiful campsite. The washing-up area, showers, and toilets are all exceptionally clean, with a friendly welcome and bread-roll service. Apparently privately run; the owners care about the site and guests. The Wi-Fi really works. The river in front of the site makes beautiful wilderness-like sounds. Camper pitches are level and all have picnic tables. There are covered picnic areas, a fire barrel, a warm dining room, a television, and games.
Beautiful campsite, neither too large nor too crowded, which was very pleasant. There were only three showers and toilets each, which led to waiting times at peak hours. A plus was the family shower, allowing us to shower easily with our baby.
I’d give more stars if it were possible! We came here for two nights but decided to stay one more just because the spot and views were incredibly beautiful. The camping is very nice, clean, and all the details are thought through (there is a bunch of kitchen equipment and even a hair dryer!) — you can see that the owners really care about making it a comfortable place for visitors.
Wonderful views, river, and mountains.
A very beautiful, quiet, well-maintained campsite. The facilities are excellent and extremely clean. It takes 40 minutes to walk to the cable car. The ride up the mountain is highly recommended. A gigantic panorama awaits you there.
Everything perfect: wonderful new sanitary facilities, a lovely hostess, and with ACSI very inexpensive at €27 including shower and electricity. Bike tour to the two glaciers. Hiking trails and magnificent scenery. Simply perfect and beautiful.
Beautiful pitches, well-maintained sanitary facilities, and a friendly welcome.
Excellent welcome from the lady, large pitches, proximity to the stream, and good facilities. One of the few ACSI campsites in Norway, so €27 is exceptional for the country. Accessible to large motorhomes. Take the 17 km road from the campsite toward the glacier at the end of Lovatnet. The road is very narrow but magical, with green lakes and the glacier at the end. Not suitable for motorhomes. You will remember it.
Beautiful place with nothing lacking. It is run by a very pleasant family.
We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed it very much. Friendly reception staff gave us nice tips about the area. The sanitary facilities were clean, and the kitchen with seating area was a useful extra. In May it was wonderfully quiet. Keep in mind that showers and the washing machine cost extra. Recommended!
We stayed three nights at this excellent campsite. We took a bicycle tour all the way to the end of the valley. At the end of the lake we went to a restaurant, then continued the rest of the way. There is also a good road in the other valley, with gradients of 10–15%. Because it was off-season, there was little traffic, though unfortunately that will change day by day. The via ferrata was great.
We liked it. The descriptions match reality. The operator told me the site is designed for about 150 guests, but at peak times there can be as many as 300, which he also considers far too many. Work is gradually under way to accommodate the high demand. The campsite remains open until mid-October. The area is wonderful.
Spectacular campsite, inexpensive for everything available in Norway and the facilities it offers. The campsite is well maintained, detailed, and in an ideal setting. The man at reception was extremely friendly. They accept ACSI (€27 including showers). We arrived at night after reception had closed; there was no problem sleeping there and checking in the next morning.
Remote, surrounded by nature yet close to the area's sights and attractions. Well-maintained campsite offering everything you need.
Excellent campsite in terms of location, facilities, and value for money. Spacious, level gravel pitches that are convenient for motorhomes. Bathrooms, showers, hairdryer—which is appreciated—and kitchen, all very clean and with many thoughtful details. Very friendly and attentive reception. Play area. Views of the river and dreamy little spots. Thank you for everything!
We planned to stay here for one night but stayed an extra night. The welcome was very friendly, the croissants were delicious, the camper pitch perfectly level, the views of the river and mountains fantastic, and the sanitary facilities excellent and clean… truly recommended!
Beautiful campsite surrounded by nature! Quiet! Wonderful views, very clean bathrooms, token-operated showers (tokens available at reception), and very kind owners! The Skyline walkway is about 2 km away. Highly recommended overall.
Everything is perfect.
Very warm welcome. Everything is provided. The showers are indeed paid, as are the washing machine and dryer. That is normal, but a little expensive. What isn't expensive in Norway…
Excellent campsite in a wonderful setting! We stayed one night while passing through. Clean bathrooms, spacious and tidy kitchen. Recommended!
Excellent campsite: surrounded by nature, not crowded, large pitches facing the river and mountains. Spacious and very clean sanitary facilities. Smiling and very friendly receptionist. Not cheap: 1,000 NOK for two nights in a motorhome, electricity, four showers and one washing machine.
Great site with very friendly operators. We hardly have anything to criticize! In the men’s facilities, I had four minutes of shower time for 10 NOK; my girlfriend had five minutes in the women’s facilities for 10 NOK. I think showers should be included at this price. Otherwise, a great pitch!
Pleasant people, spacious and clean sanitary facilities, and excellent pitches with a magnificent view. Nice shared kitchen area. Small bread rolls can be ordered. Paid shower: 10 NOK for five minutes (a negative point). Many places to get water and facilities for emptying wastewater and the van toilet. The price is fine for the location :-) You can book online.
Friendly reception, help available. Very clean. Very spacious terraced pitches. Great children’s playground and trampolines. Small room with TV and board games. Small kitchen available. Showers only 10 NOK, with very hot water. Electricity 50 NOK. Very peaceful. Recommended!
Very Calm camping place with a Nice view to the mountians its toilets and bath are clean. Near a river and good spots with car and tent
A great campsite. It is simply wonderfully beautiful here. The motorhome stands level on gravel with a patch of grass. The operators are very nice, and the sanitary facilities are clean and orderly. Disposal of black and grey water is easy. You can take beautiful hikes here. Our dog felt very comfortable. We will come back to this wonderful valley someday.
Very nice tent pitches right beside rapids. Good, fresh toilets and showers. Friendly staff. However, there are rather few toilets and showers for the number of guests. Four-minute showers for 10 NOK could be purchased at reception.
