This large hiking parking lot is a quiet overnight location directly beside walking trails and close to the Danube source. The source is about 200 m away, with a good restaurant nearby. Roads from the Triberg direction are very narrow in places, so access can be difficult for larger vans.

I didn't stay here, I only parked for the Danube source. I can confirm it is a lovely place to stay for the night, really quiet and close to nature. I would have stayed, but I had other plans. Tip: if you have a larger van..the roads are very, very narrow in places from the Triberg direction. I have an L1H1 Ducato and meeting a cyclist in the other direction brought me to a crawl.
We had a peaceful afternoon and night here. A few cyclists and walkers passed but not many and completely still in the evening/overnight. Short walk to the source of the Danube, which is well worth a visit. There is a paid camperstop before this, but if you want a quieter (and free) night, stop here instead. Narrow passage up, but fine with a small van (max 2.2x6m). No facilities but very clean.
Very busy during the day; the car park empties from 6 p.m. A very quiet night in a beautiful setting, right next to the source of the Danube. A very pleasant discovery.
