Well-shaded site. Nothing to complain about. We couldn't go canoeing, but we bought something at the shop and ate at the restaurant, which provides access to water. We were very warmly welcomed at the shop and received excellent advice. Thank you for all the explanations and your work. But take care of yourselves. Thanks for this lovely place. Nadège Philippe
Everything has already been described in the previous reviews... I would add the great kindness of the staff at Canoë Détente. Thank you, we will definitely come back.
Spacious area. Showers are only allowed for canoe customers, so you have to go canoeing with Canoë Détente to use them, and during opening hours, since after 7 p.m. they are closed, quite normally. A certain troublemaker, “FRANKEA,” forced open the shower doors at 9 p.m.; a deserved expulsion!
I was asked to leave the site because I used the shower (I hadn't read the sign saying it was a staff shower). An employee immediately accompanied me to my motorhome and asked me to leave the site at once. I would have gladly paid to use the shower, but the employee was unyielding... Well, they won't see me there again!!!!
Great shady location. You can swim in the river; there is a small beach. You can go canoeing if you wish, and there is also a restaurant (which was not open today because of the Tour de France). I am not giving 5 stars because there are quite a lot of mosquitoes.
The warmest of welcomes when you arrive here. The bar owner Anne couldn't be nicer as are the staff at the canoe rental area. On the banks of the Dordogne, you can do a 15km (or longer) kayak tour of one of the most stunning parts of this river from here and is highly recommended. Water emptying and filling facilities available. Would definitely come back again.
An unexpected place to park, in the shade, beside the Dordogne. The services are free, with a very warm welcome, a restaurant, a bar, a shop, and the possibility of taking an excursion on the Dordogne to admire its castles... A place to try without delay.
Wonderful place with a great welcome; the owners are very kind. It is right on the Dordogne, where we enjoyed a 14-km canoe descent with a superb view of the castles, and the best part... the following afternoon we went paddleboarding on the Dordogne for a very pleasant 7-km descent that is apparently accessible to everyone—a new offering. Brilliant. Very good farm products. Thank you, we will come back.
Very nice place with shade. We received a wonderful welcome and felt very welcome. Very quiet night. Access to the Dordogne. We will come back!
Pleasant welcome. You have to let them know that you are staying overnight. That makes sense. Parking under the trees. Ideal when the sun is out. The night is quiet and restful. You can go canoeing if you are interested. The only drawback: mosquitoes.
Very warm welcome from the owner, where you can find excellent products in exchange for a night's stay. A system for emptying black and gray water into the same pit. The motorhome area is very shady and damp; beware of mosquitoes...
Friendly welcome. Let them know before spending the night. First night free; second night in exchange for using a local service. A good idea, and perfectly reasonable.
Recommended! Slept peacefully under the trees. Tell the bar that you want to stay overnight, and you will receive a confirmation slip. To stay a second night, they ask you to buy or drink something. Bins, a playground, and a sports field are within walking distance. Great cooling off in the Dordogne!
We spent two nights in exchange for a canoe trip. The staff are extremely friendly. This was the coolest and shadiest spot of our holiday—extremely pleasant! Direct access to the Dordogne with a beautiful setup. Note that visitors come and go for canoe trips, which is not ideal if you want to stay all day, especially when it is dusty.
We stopped by on 12/08/25 to empty the tanks: - no separation between gray and black water; - no water for rinsing the cassette.
Well-shaded site. The canoe-trip staff are very friendly and everything is very well organized. The restaurant serves homemade food. We spent two nights. Recommended.
Nice place. Easy access. Flat. Possibility of emptying gray water and the toilet. Beach nearby, as well as a restaurant and the possibility of canoeing. Very friendly owner who makes good foie gras. First night free, and the second may also be free if you consume something on site, which is perfectly normal. Thank you for the welcome. A few mosquitoes, but they do not spoil anything.
Very pleasant place in the shade of walnut trees. The team is very welcoming, with a very interesting local-consumption concept involving canoeing, a restaurant, and farm products.
We stayed there for three nights. It was perfect apart from the mosquitoes, the only negative point. We rented canoes from the owners, who are devoted to tourists. We also bought products from their farm: delicious! I highly recommend it, and many thanks to them for this place. Please leave it clean and tidy!!!!
Beautiful spot under the walnut trees, shaded, perfect during a heatwave.
Great welcome and very friendly owner.
Great free stop if purchasing canoe trip (recommend) or products from shop. Restaurant closed for refurbishment. Mostly shaded spots under walnut trees but a few sunny ones dotted around. Peaceful night. Showers and WC closed 19.00 - 08.30.
Perfect place if you are self-sufficient; no problem if you need water. More than a kind welcome. It must be very pleasant in summer under the walnut trees. Very, very good duck products—surely among the best I have tasted—and at very good prices. If you are passionate about LEGO, this is the place to go... Canoe base, bar, and restaurant. And what's more, it is free.
Very friendly welcome, with a small shop selling products made by the farm. Very quiet night.
Just one night; no services on site.
Too bad, but it is closed by gates.
Many thanks to the owners for making this site available free of charge. Very pleasant and shady. We spent a very pleasant night. We would have gladly stayed longer to enjoy the canoe and kayak trips!
Area under walnut trees, providing shade and coolness. The motorhome parking is used by cars during the day, but the cars are considerate and do not park next to the motorhomes. The canoe-rental operator owns this parking area and the small shop selling products from the farm he runs with his wife. The dumping station was not used, so it was not rated.
We were not well received by the owner. The cassette-dumping area is not cleaned regularly. We saw floating feces, all of this next to the restaurant. It is not very inviting. Too bad, because the place is nice. We will not return.
Second time we have visited the area and it is a wonderful place: shade, river, canoes, and the possibility of emptying and filling. Many thanks to the owner for making this space available.
Great spot with a restaurant and canoeing.
