Exorbitant price! The Coimbra area and surroundings are more about business than hospitality. I pay for visits, culinary discoveries, and guides—but not for parking lots! The world is very large; one lifetime is not enough to see everything, so I skip these kinds of cash grabs.
Very beautiful place. We spent the night here with a view of the impressive hotel. Camper spaces are on P1 and a few on P3. Beautiful walking area. Toilets at the back of the information building.
This is no longer open for night stays, only day stays at €15 for a campervan/motorhome
Since you have to pay €15 to enter the park, which is beautiful by the way, you might as well spend the night there for the same price! We were the only motorhome: absolute peace at night and a magical view of the Palace. It is not often that you can spend the night in such an exceptional place.
I waited and drove onto the grounds at around 21:30. The barriers were open then. Today we went for a walk and expected to have to pay when leaving, but I was able to drive through. Pro tip! Park in the middle of P3. Follow the nature trail and, after the houses with the crucifixion of Jesus, go through the old house. (Google Maps: Ermida do Sepulcro e Cruz.) You can see your camper from above! See photo.
The park visit is pleasant, with a few beautiful things to see, but sorry, it is not worth the €15 entrance fee. When you also have to pay €1 for each park map—there are two—it becomes a scam. I would advise entering the park on foot. Those who want to spend the night should go to the parking area at the Sula gate; it is very good. Thank you.
A wonderful place to discover: its trees, fountains, sacred sites, and buildings. The €15 entrance fee for motorhomes allows us to stay overnight until 9 a.m. the next day. Several parking areas are available; we slept opposite the five-star Gothic palace. Toilets are available under the information point.
Extraordinary night at the foot of the palace in parking area 3. €15 per night, but it is a luxury to walk through the forest and around the palace.
The national park is incredibly beautiful and absolutely recommended to visit! Four different hiking trails of three hours each. €15 parking fee; we asked at the information point if we could stay overnight and were allowed to. Be sure to leave the park before 8 a.m., as the ticket booths are staffed from then on and you would have to pay another €15.
We entered the park at night without tickets and spent the night; nobody bothered us, but they charged us €15 when we left.
Great! Clean. Quiet in the middle of the forest. Toilets nearby. Magnificent view of the castle.
If you ask politely, you are also allowed to spend the night here. We were happy to pay the €15 entrance fee, as it benefits the park and the entire site. This place is truly an incredible estate.
Charging €15 for motorhome entry is outrageous. You cannot inspect the spaces beforehand. The fee is also charged late in the afternoon. Compared with cars, it is pure profiteering!
